Luxury brand, Montblanc, has long been renowned for their exquisite writing instruments since the introduction of the first fountain pen in 1913.

However, more recently, the marque, headquartered in Hamburg (Germany), has now also become well-known not only for their beautiful timepieces and jewellery, but equally for their male and female leather goods ranges.

For a little history, twenty years after registering the iconic white star as a trademark in 1935, Montblanc established a separate leather goods production works in Lämmerspiel near Offenbach near Frankfurt, to fabricate small luxury leather goods. Nearly 60 years later in 1992, the company acquired Karl Seeger Lederwarenfabrik GmbH to become the manufacturer of Montblanc´s collection of leather products. This led to the extension of the legendary Meisterstück range in addition to the introduction of the new product line entitled “New Dimensions” which counted luxury leather goods, handmade paper, as well as desk accessories. Three years later, Montblanc unveiled the Meisterstück Leather Collection (an extension to the already existing range of small leather items), accessories for everyday business and travel, which was again subsequently refreshed in 2005.

Today, Montblanc’s leather products are made in a dedicated facility in Italy from the finest hides, and are retailed across the globe within Montblanc’s network of boutiques and retail outlets. At the helm of the Montblanc leather goods division is Managing Director, Christian Rauch, who joined in 2009 after working in the marketing and the audio domains for the global entertainment brand, Sony.

Launching in September 2012 is “La Vie de Bohème”, a luxurious new line of small leather goods conceived to captivate the contemporary woman. The distinctive feature of this collection is its exotic alligator print on the finest calfskin, which is further enhanced by an eye-catching lustrous finish. This is complemented by subtle decorative stitching and a tone-on-tone lining with the graceful Montblanc star-wave emblem, whilst a tiny Montblanc star in feminine light gold discreetly signs each piece. Two sophisticated colours, deep Onyx Black and pale Desert Sand, are the foundation for the core line, to which a new colour will be added every season, starting with Aqua Marine for Fall/Winter 2012 and Rose Quartz for Spring/Summer 2013.
