The National Motor Museum provided the setting for the first annual Beaulieu One Hundred Dinner and Auction on Saturday, 15th October.
Over 70 Beaulieu One Hundred members and guests joined Lord Montagu for this Bond-themed event, enjoying Martini cocktails on arrival before making their way over the red carpet for a private view of BOND IN MOTION, an exclusive exhibition of 50 Bond vehicles currently on display in the Museum.
The Beaulieu One Hundred is a new initiative launched by the National Motor Museum Trust, enabling motoring enthusiasts to enjoy a closer relationship with the Museum. Members can enjoy many benefits, including VIP entry to the Museum and a specially designed programme of social events, while supporting the Museum with an annual donation of £1,000.
Guest of honour (see main picture) and a Beaulieu One Hundred founder member, Murray Walker, gave an entertaining after dinner talk. He was presented with the first Beaulieu One Hundred Award, by fellow member and National Motor Museum Trustee, Pink Floyd drummer and serious car enthusiast and collector, Nick Mason. The Award, a Spirit of Ecstasy statuette, marked Murray’s long association with and support of Beaulieu as well as his contribution to the enjoyment and understanding of motoring heritage.
The Auction which followed raised further valuable funds for the National Motor Museum with generous prizes donated by the Chewton Glen, Master Builder’s House Hotel and the Montagu Arms. A personal tour of Nick Mason’s own vehicle collection attracted the largest number of bids.
