Port Adriano – The ‘Marina Chic’ Side to Mallorca

Port Adriano - The ‘Marina Chic’ Side to Mallorca

Along the southwest bay of the Spanish island of Mallorca lies the plush yachting park and playground called Port Adriano – an upmarket marina with classy character.

Truly a trendy sailor’s paradise, this port plays Mediterranean host to a luxury line up of some of the world’s finest speedboats and super yachts and offers 149 moorings for boats sized between 6 to 110 meters in length. The moorings have storage of 24 square meters next to each boat and the marina offers a variety of amenities for the boats such as its very own shipyard and gym facilities available to boating crew and other visitors.

Port Adriano - The ‘Marina Chic’ Side to MallorcaOriginally built in 1974 and recently re-designed by the highly revered French architect and designer Philippe Starck, the up and coming modern quayside offers its international flock of guests more than simply mooring.

During the daytime, the harbour is a mellow, tranquil respite to stop and enjoy the Spanish sunshine, sample fresh seafood over a lazy lunch (check out La Terraza and ask for lamb chops or the grilled lobster) and take a pleasant summer stroll along the main esplanade. With its exclusive beach club-esque lounge areas and stylish fashion and art boutiques edging out along the central panel, Port Adriano has a hugely desirable level of discretion and an understated appeal.

The summer months also play host to the Classic Silver Bollard Regatta, giving you another great reason to race out on a vessel to catch the action that’s happening out at sea. You can also take a diving trip out to Malgrats Islands, where you can discover the riches of the seabed. It is equally the ideal base to explore the incredible offer of the Mediterranean – in particular the unique characteristics of three main Balearic islands: Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza/ Formentera.

Port Adriano - The ‘Marina Chic’ Side to MallorcaFor those who like to get some sand in between their toes, Port Adriano neighbours a small beach enclosure to further ensure you get the most out your time whilst on the island. For spa-seekers, we recommend paying a trip to the nearby Port Adriano Hotel (separate to the marina despite the eponymous name) that’s perched on a hilltop overlooking the marina and is a short five-minute shuttle service ride away.

By sunset, the entire promenade changes in its ambience and the scene becomes the place to see and be seen, with a superb selection of 10 open-air restaurants to choose from to indulge in that stay open until late. We highly recommend COAST by East, a sumptuous sushi and pan-Asian fusion menu that serves dishes such as pepper crusted black cod with rice and crunchy vegetables and also Bruno, serving up the best, melt-in-the-mouth salt-baked sea bass.

Each evening during the hotter months, the marina magnificently transforms into an interactive open-air theatre known as the ‘Fun Parade’, where a lively sequence of artistic performances, all exclusively themed and arranged specifically for the port, pop-up at carefully timed intervals to entertain you while you wine and dine. A clever mix of comedy, music, dance, circus and singing acts and sketches all unravel right before your eyes for a memorable and magical marina stay at Port Adriano.
