New Aloes in Gibraltar wins ‘Best in the World’ at the International Property Awards

Gibraltar has returned from the ‘World’s Best Finals’ of the International Property Awards in association with Rolls-Royce Motor Cars with fantastic news – a global win for New Aloes.

Announced in Dubai on 4 December, the £10.9-million New Aloes beat off category winners from Africa, Arabia, the Americas, Asia Pacific and the UK to claim ‘Best International Property Single Unit’.

Sandra Lamplough, Marketing Manager for Fairhomes Ltd, the developer behind New Aloes, said, “What an incredible Christmas present. Not only did we win ‘Best Property Single Unit Gibraltar’, and then a surprise bonus of ‘Best Property Single Unit Europe’, beating off competition from everyone from Spain to Italy, but we have also claimed the top-of-the-tree global accolade ‘Best International Property Single Unit’. It genuinely does not get any better than that. Gibraltar is among the top ten smallest countries in the world, yet we’ve made our presence felt on a global stage in the shape of New Aloes. Fairhomes Ltd is now part of a select group of just 48 companies who can celebrate this ‘World’s Best’ achievement.”

Built on the site of a former Ministry of Defence building of the same name, New Aloes is a substantial 21st century home of 9,526ft² with 4,402ft² of terraces and 6,243ft² of gardenAlongside best-in-business architects, estate agents and interior designers, developer Fairhomes Ltd competed at country level in the regional stages of the International Property Awards 2014-2015 back in October and became the top scorer in Europe with New Aloes. The global victory was revealed at the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai on December 4 with Chairman of the Judges, the Earl of Caithness from the British House of Lords, announcing the ultimate World’s Best winners.

The Awards are in their 21st year and claim to be the largest, richest and most prestigious property competition in the world. This season in excess of 2,000 companies from 103 different countries took part making the financial value of the competing projects astronomical with their total worth estimated at around £20 billion.

Covering 50 different residential and commercial categories, regional heats are staged for Arabia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central & South America, the Caribbean, USA, UK and Asia Pacific with gala presentation ceremonies in Kuala Lumpur, Los Angeles, London and, of course, Dubai.

A more-than-80-strong expert judging panel gives credit for impressive design, innovation, sustainability and eco-friendliness, with New Aloes clearly ticking every box to elevate it to World’s Best status.

President of the International Property Awards, Stuart Shield, says, “Each and every one of the companies to win a coveted World’s Best award has displayed exemplary levels of quality, professionalism and innovation. Having proved their worth at country level, they can now take their rightful place as leaders in the global property market.”
