Chopard are one of those watch and jewellery brands that conjure up instant thoughts of class, refinement and excellence just by the mere mention of its brand name. Today we are very pleased to showcase some of their wonderful Pre Baselworld novelties.

Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control
Mille Miglia GTS Power ControlOver the years since its launch in 1988, the Mille Miglia has become a flagship collection of Chopard. In 2015, Chopard is entirely revisiting this grand classic by introducing the collection dubbed Mille Miglia GTS (for Grand Turismo Sport). This new Chopard collection, composed of a three-hand and date chronometer, a power reserve and a chronograph, sees the introduction of a Chopard movement: for the first time, the chronometer and power-reserve models will be equipped with a Chopard movement from the workshops of Fleurier Ebauches. The sleek, sophisticated design of these new creations rejuvenates the Classic Racing spirit embodied by the Mille Miglia collection, while remaining true to the identity codes of the models rolled out over the past 25 years. The Mille Miglia GTS Power Control model is the first illustration of this renewal.

Mille Miglia GTS: three models for a complete collection
Mille Miglia GTSThe new Mille Miglia GTS is a complete collection composed of a three-hand chronometer with date display, a chronograph and a power-reserve model. These three models with their eminently masculine curves are inspired by the classic cars that took part in the race between 1940 and 1957. Their steel cases – featuring featuring a 43 mm diameter for the Automatic and Power Control versions and 44 mm for the Chrono version – are fitted with short, pointed lugs that are carefully tapered to ensure optimal comfort on the wrist, while the sporting nature of these timepieces is enhanced by facetted hands.

The first watch to be unveiled in this new line is the Chopard Mille Miglia GTS Power Control, superbly epitomising the “racing” spirit, the high performances and the superlative quality of the Mille Miglia GTS models.

Happy Diamonds Joaillerie
With diamonds glistening like dewdrops on silky petals, the new Happy Diamonds Jewellery collection gracefully and poetically evokes the emotion, freshness and magic of shimmering light dancing across an enchanted garden. Nature has always been an inspiration to the world of fashion. Happy Diamonds JoaillerieDrawing from this, Chopard has unveiled a Happy Diamonds collection of pop art inspired flowers with a decidedly modern twist. A fresh, spontaneous bloom graced with slender curves, whose delicately rounded softness and harmony delight the senses.

Happy Diamonds: a free spirit
Free of any setting, Happy Diamonds and its classic twirling, energetic, joyful gems have played a starring role in Chopard’s history. The design was inspired by the vision of sunlight sparkling on the droplets of a waterfall during a walk in the Black Forest. Happy Diamonds swiftly became a signature of the house with their iconic, spirited character showcased in countless variations. Available in 18ct white or rose gold, this floral Happy Diamonds collection is comprised of a pendant, ring and earrings. Each piece is set with 19 diamonds and a floating diamond, thus becoming a unique jewelled addition to the Chopard Happy Diamonds family. Through the beauty of a diamond bouquet, a spring dream is realized and leads Chopard’s Happy Diamonds in a renewed free-spirited dance.

Happy Sport 30mm Automatic
Happy Sport 30mm Automatic Steel and diamonds: a daring and modern alliance that gives rise to a perpetually reinvented icon – the Chopard Happy Sport. It now returns to the scene with a smaller, elegant dial with a self-winding movement, an accomplishment on both an aesthetic and technical level.

Happy Sport: a daringly free creation
In 1993, Caroline Scheufele, Chopard Co-President and Artistic Director, designed a sporty watch based on an original design in an unexpected combination – steel and diamonds. The Happy Sport was born. True to the spirit of Happy Diamonds, these gems dancing freely between two sapphire crystals soon became a symbol of Chopard and feminine watchmaking as a whole. In 2013, Chopard celebrated the 20th anniversary of this watch with the development of a mechanical model – the Happy Sport Medium Automatic – featuring redesigned lines and details.

The new Happy Sport 30mm Automatic is available with a polished steel or diamond-set case. Five floating diamonds whirl about its silver-toned dial featuring a spiral guilloché centre pattern. The crown, also made of steel, is set with a blue sapphire, while the steel bracelet or alligator leather strap accentuates the singularly graceful appeal of this model.

The Chopard L.U.C Regulator – Aesthetic balance and historical precision
The Chopard L.U.C RegulatorChopard is reinterpreting this year a classic from its L.U.C Haute Horlogerie collections: the L.U.C Regulator model. It now appears in a version combining the elegance of the new L.U.C case with the horological prestige of the Chopard regulator movement. In keeping with the grand tradition of precision clocks, the six indications on the L.U.C Regulator are separated to ensure optimal readability. The COSC certification as well as the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark awarded to this new L.U.C watch testify to its high rating precision and fine craftsmanship. In addition, the Chopard L.U.C Regulator features subtle symmetrical effects representing a noteworthy aesthetic accomplishment.

Both a high-precision watch and an off-centred display mode, the regulator is a watch industry classic that Chopard approaches in an extremely modern way in this model. Entirely redesigned to ensure optimal readability and formal elegance, it admirably embodies the founding principles of the L.U.C collections. Its historical roots, its rating precision as well as its harmonious proportions make it an authentic Haute Horlogerie watch.

Each Chopard L.U.C 98.02-L movement of the L.U.C Regulator has successfully undergone the tests conducted by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute, thereby guaranteeing its chronometric precision. The watch is thus authorised to bear the inscription “Chronometer” on its dial. Moreover, its case and its movement have passed the stern tests performed by the Poinçon de Genève quality hallmark, which certifies the fine technical and aesthetic craftsmanship of the watch, and in particular the high level of finishing on its mechanical parts.

From its movement right the way through to the smallest details of its operation and its appearance, this model demonstrates the considerable importance devoted to the quality of its feel and look on the wrist, along with user friendliness and elegance.
