CRN unveiled the first glimpse of Atlante, the new 55 metre megayacht, at this year’s Monaco Yacht Show in September 2015.

Atlante was born within the company’s Ancona-based Italian shipyard where they specialise in the construction of fully customised steel and aluminium superyachts between 50 and 90 metres in length. The company was originally founded over 50 years ago and became part of the Ferretti Group in 1999. Their Ancona shipyard has a surface area of almost 80,000 square metres, 25,000 of which are indoors, and it can host the construction of megayachts of up to 90 metres long.

The design of Atlante  was developed by CRN’s technical team in collaboration with Studio Nuvolari Lenard, who worked on the megayacht’s exterior profile, and Studio Gilles & Boissier Interior Design.

This imposing megayacht is 11 metres wide with a strong stylistic identity and a military design theme. Square forms, sharp lines and innovative solutions, combined with an extraordinary attention to details makes Atlante a truly unique vessel. Boasting four decks and an Owner’s Suite, Atlante also features four VIP cabins accommodating 12 guests, as well as 13 crew members.

Working closely with the Owner, who explicitly requested a yacht with a strong masculine edge, Atlante perfectly interprets their desires. CRN has created a vessel which truly breaks the mould, working in partnership with world renowned international designers to ensure the customer’s vision becomes a reality.

Atlante features unique touches, requested specifically by the Owner, including innovative handrail in polished steel with a trapezoidal profile, which are reminiscent of a diamond, as well as metal elements in polished steel and burnished brass.

The megayacht offers open spaces integrated with creative solutions, such as compartments and niches that are aesthetically integrated into the yacht’s overall design, to hide the mooring and safety equipment.

The Atlante tender garage

The garage holds three tenders: one limo tender, one walkaround, both custom-made nine metre models designed by Nuvolari Lenard, in addition to a custom-made five metre inflatable boat.

The innovative closed stern solution provides access to the sea via two side hatches. These open mechanically upwards so the tenders can be lowered into the water, via two cranes installed on the ceiling.

The elegant interior has been designed to create a strong sense of intimacy. Every detail was carefully considered in order to guarantee absolute privacy for the Owner. The dark colours of the hull and superstructure are also found in the interior, with varying tones of Carrara and Verona marble, combined with shades of smoked oak skilfully mixed with brushed fir, black oak and larch.

Reworked to create this unique vessel, Atlante features CRN’s signature characteristics which have written the history of international yachting.

The Beach Staircase on Atlante

Boarding Atlante is an experience in itself. Primary access is direct onto the lower deck from the beach club, a large decked area with light brushed fir and teak, equipped with a solarium, sunbathing area and custom-made tables. This is completed by two symmetrical areas, which open out onto the sea, each with its own balcony: the right-hand one is devoted to relaxation, with a massage bed and a Turkish bath, while the other side is dedicated to fitness, with Technogym equipment. The beach club also provides access to the engine room.

Along a striking staircase, in grey Carnico marble and teak, and via a watertight glass and steel hatch, guests enter the stylish and innovative main deck. A multi-purpose area which can be transformed from a technical zone to a living space – a convivial daytime area and a natural continuation of the beach club, a large and comfortable home theatre or even a generous party area.

A sliding glass door leads into the main salon, which is emblematic of the Owner’s taste, with dark smoked oak and light décor, giving the area a warm and welcoming feel. The interior décor, furniture and lighting have been custom made by Gilles & Boissier with tables created from fabric, wood and marble with metal legs along with sofas with rosewood frames and light Loropiana fabrics.

The main saloon on Atlante

Both sides of the living area feature two sliding glass doors towards the stern guaranteeing maximum privacy for the Owner and his guests from the outside while allowing them to remain in direct contact with the sea. Large vertical windows also provide light and reflections. The main salon contains the only internal dining area on the yacht, composed of two up-and-down tables positioned on an inset Tai Ping rug. The floor is dark oak parquet, with marble edging. A rug made of natural “abaca” fibre covers the entire surface area of the living space, while the ceiling is leather.

The lower deck offers four guest cabins, which are directly connected to the main deck. All with different layouts, but with the signature smoked oak and brushed silver fir tones, white Calacatta Vagli marble and custom made sofas and tables designed by Gilles & Boissier.

The lower-deck bow area contains the crew quarters, from which it is possible to access the dinette. This has dedicated access for taking on provisions via a hatch on the port side. On the opposite side of the dinette is the captain’s cabin, and beyond this, six cabins for crew members.

Towards the bow guests will enter the lobby, featuring smoked oak, with an integrated closed lift. A white Carrara marble staircase links the main deck to the guest cabins on the lower deck, and to the other decks which can also be reached by lift. Past the lobby, guests enter a wide corridor which leads to the Owner’s Suite. On the right-hand side of the corridor there is a day loo in Calacatta Vagli marble and afrormosia teak. On the left there is a door which leads to the professional galley and the pantry, and to stairs which provide access to the crew quarters on the lower deck.

The owners suite on Atlante

A wide corridor leads to the Owner’s Suite, which is contemporary and elegant in style, featuring brushed silver and brown fir, brushed black oak, eucalyptus for the desk and coffee table, and leather panels. The full-beam Master Stateroom opens up on the right with a sliding desk and a leather table/pouffe which slides along rails parallel to the sofa, positioned along the entire right-hand wall. The prestigious Suite boasts a wall-mounted TV and a desk opposite the bed, as well as a sofa. In the bow, the full-beam bathroom, his-and-her areas, is covered entirely in dark grey Carnico marble, with a central shower cabin in grey-veined white Calacatta Vagli marble.

The vessel can also be boarded from the outside stern area, forming an alternative access to the official one via the beach club, used for particularly tall docks. A hydraulic masterpiece in steel and teak leads guests on board and to the spacious cockpit of the upper deck. This features custom-made furnishings including black teak sofas and up-and-down dining tables in black oak with polished steel frames, combined with removable directors’ chairs. This area is also equipped with a minibar and an ice maker.

A six metre sliding glass door leads to the upper deck living area, where furniture is arranged symetrically with a beautiful low table in solid wood dividing the space into two. On each side there are corner couches, tables with eucalyptus and rosewood tops and custom-made lamps and the side windows bathe the area in light. The base of the windows feature leather seating, offering unrivalled views of the sea. The floor is dark oak parquet with marble edging. A rug in natural “abaca” fibre covers the entire surface area of the living space, while the ceiling is made of larch wood, like the wall panels.

The upper deck lobby, decorated with a French masterpiece, faces out onto two floor-to-ceiling windows that make the area feel spacious and airy.

An incredible uninterrupted stem-to-stern experience leads to the wheel house with a Telemar integrated bridge, equipped with five interchangeable screens and touchscreen controls on glass panels. The bow features a large, elegant and innovative living area with clean lines and decked out in teak. The only furnishings are an up-and-down table opposite the bridge, as well as a few removable seats around it, all of which disappear into the flush deck. On each side of the table there are the bimini top poles, in gloss black-finish carbon fibre with integrated lights, which support the fully removable sun canopy.

Another significant innovation is the hidden hatch flush which leads to the bow mooring room. The ample bow space allows touch-and-go helicopters of up to three tonnes to land, with the possibility to remove the stanchions around the entire perimeter of the area. At the bow, there is a hidden telescopic carbon-fibre pole with lights for night-time running.

Atlante sun deck and pool

The sun deck can be accessed via a splendid open-riser staircase in polished steel with a glass and teak lifeline. The stern area is equipped for entertaining and is furnished with the same custom top-and-down tables and sofas featured in other outdoor areas. At the bow, the intimate relaxation zone is composed of a sunbathing area with an electrically manoeuvrable sunshade and a stunning swimming pool at the bow facing out onto the sea ahead. The swimming pool features consistant elements which characterise the entire vessel, such as the trapezoidal polished steel handrail, glass and metal trim.

The on-board entertainment system is completely integrated and controlled via iPads and iPhones. The automation system was developed in partnership with Videoworks.

Atlante is equipped with two Caterpillar 3512C engines that develop 1,230 kW @ 1800 RPM and propel the craft to a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.
