Alfa Romeo's Giulia Quadrifoglio Is Set To Thrill At Goodwood

At the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, Alfa Romeo will not only showcase cars from the past and present but will also unleash the full power of their 510 hp Giulia Quadrifoglio at the world-famous hill climb

A very prominent specialist motoring TV show once stated that you can never consider yourself to be a true petrol-head if you haven’t owned an Alfa Romeo. I would completely agree with this statement, Alfa Romeo is one of those rare brands which elicits passion and pride, a brand that has produced many brilliant models and like every manufacturer, a few that were not so great.

At the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Italian motoring marque will be showcasing a number of current models, including the upgraded Alfa Romeo MiTo with ‘Giulia inspired’ honeycomb grille and fascia, interior and exterior upgrades, new badging, and sleek alloy wheels.

Joining the MiTo will be one of only 50 stunning Alfa Romeo 4C Spider Limited Editions. The gorgeous looks of the 4C Spider will always garner a good amount of attention but is bound to have the spotlight taken away on this rare occasion by the brand’s range-topping Giulia Quadrifoglio, the most powerful road-going car Alfa Romeo has made to date.

In recent times the Alfa Romeo design team has created some absolute crackers, the 4C stands out as a modern great, just for its sublime looks. Prior to the 4C, we had the 8C, a car regarded by many as the most beautiful car ever made.

Now motoring fans across the globe will be treated to the new car on the block, the 510hp Giulia Quadrifoglio. This new car combines Italian styling and practicality with performance to rival those of a supercar. I’d liken the Giulia Quadrifoglio to a beautifully tailored Italian suit with just about the best lining you could have, it’s sharp, clean and professional on the outside and absolutely spectacular on the inside.

What we have with the Giulia Quadrifoglio is a sleek, tech-laden and practical four-door sports saloon with performance specs that will make you gasp:

  • Top Speed: 191 mph
  • 0 to 60 mph: 3.8 seconds
  • Power: 505 hp
  • Engine: All-aluminum direct injection 90-degree 2.9-liter V6 Bi-Turbo

To put this into some context, these statistics makes the Giulia Quadrifoglio as fast to 60 mph as the brilliant Aston Martin V12 Vantage S is and I haven’t mentioned the best bit – Luxurious Magazine will be joining the Alfa Romeo team for a run up the hill climb to experience first hand how these technical statistics translate to the real-world.

Aside from their current models, Alfa Romeo will be displaying cars from their legendary heritage and lineage including an Alfa Romeo Giulia GTAm, 33/3 Le Mans Spider, and an Alfa Romeo 33 TT 12 making the pilgrimage from the Museo Storico Alfa Romeo in Italy to take on the Goodwood Hill-Climb.

In addition to the above classics, an original 1960s Giulia TI Super Model will be shown alongside the latest generation Giulia on the Alfa Romeo stand.

Damien Dally, Country Manager, Alfa Romeo UK, commented; “2016 marks an incredibly important moment in Alfa Romeo’s history as we launch the All-New Alfa Romeo Giulia and start an exciting chapter for the iconic marque. We’re delighted to be debuting the Giulia to the UK public at Goodwood Festival of Speed.

“With the new Alfa Romeo line-up of New Alfa MiTo, Giulietta, 4C and the Giulia, there’s never been a broader or more tempting selection of beautiful Alfa Romeo cars to choose from.”
