Women

Trend: Embroidery
“Embroidery is a big AW16 trend, seen on the runways in New York and London. Our expertly crafted, embroidered jacket can be dressed up or down, whether you pair it with jeans or a smart dress this jacket is classic. Ideal for when the last chukka has been played and the after-party begins.

La Martina Guards Jacket

Part of the Guard’s Capsule, in association with Guards Polo Club, it takes its inspiration from the garments of the soldier and from the dress code to be invited at the Royal Box for polo matches.”

Trend: Equestrian Inspired Accessories
“The Sol Brillante (literally “Shining Sun”) handbag embodies the equestrian trend we saw on catwalks back in February. The bag brings to life every facet of La Martina’s heritage as a saddle manufacturer, technical equipment supplier and luxury polo lifestyle fashion and accessories brand.

La Martina Sol Brillante Handbag

Horses are as much a key part of polo as the players, and as we are the leading brand in technical polo equipment, we wanted to provide a tribute to these powerful and elegant animals. This leather bag is waxed, to give it the smooth touch, and the handle is braided like the horses’ tails when playing.”

Men

Trend: Military
“We recently opened our first stand-alone store in London and were so inspired by the craftsmanship synonymous with British fashion and seen on the runways season after season. We were especially taken by Saville Row, so we teamed up with bespoke tailor and designer Timothy Everest to create the St. James Collection.

Teaming La Martina’s technical know-how and Timothy’s keen eye for unrivalled fit, we created a timeless range of military-inspired jackets using quintessentially British materials and cuts include tweet for The Charwell. Military Jackets, including suits in tweed, were seen all over the runway’s in February.”

Trend: Trench Coats
“From Marc Jacobs to Burberry, the trench coat is a staple on the catwalk with Givenchy and Burberry showing long, timeless trenches this AW.

La Martina Churchill Coat

The Churchill is a unique twist on the traditional trench, in keeping with the military style but with bold gold buttons to help distinguish this from the crowd.”

Lando Simonetti, Founder of La Martina, adds: “At La Martina, we don’t follow trends but rather take inspiration from the polo field, encompassing all elements of the regal game into our collections.

Little touches on the accessories including braiding and stirrups accentuate our timeless pieces, weaving our heritage and the essence of La Martina into each garment, bag and shoe. We aim to take polo off the field and into everyday life. Heritage is very important to me and to the brand, as it differentiates us from other luxury brands – we do not use the game to promote our brand, but we are polo.”
