To mark the start of its 5-year international expansion plan, Puro Group is opening its first-ever beach club in the Americas this December 2017 on the Caribbean coast of Mexico in Playa del Carmen.
Blessed with an average annual temperature of 26C, the established Mediterranean born leisure experience will be open all year round with 5 distinct areas covering the rooftop of a new boutique hotel “The Fives Downtown Hotel and Residences”, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.
“We have created a beachside experience that can be brought to life anywhere in the world thanks to its distinct Mediterranean spirit, hospitality and design. We have gathered fans for over a decade and look forward to showcasing our latest venture in Mexico,” says 43 years old CEO Beltran Alvarez.
Mediterranean spirit arrives in the Caribbean
Purobeach is an established Mediterranean lifestyle holiday experience. Designed with natural wood and whites, Purobeach Playa del Carmen will include: Sun Deck with signature teak sunbeds (33 sunbeds + 3 extra large hangout beds + 5 Balinese beds); Infinity Pool with views over the Caribbean; Restaurant Terrace; a new casual roof-top restaurant experience (80 guests) called M3 with a menu inspired by the flavours of Miami, Marrakech and Melbourne, as well as Mexican specialties and a fresh seafood; Bar Terrace (36 guests) where Purobeach mixologists will serve classic and contemporary cocktails; Spa Deck area for massages and treatments. DJ sets (downtempo until lunchtime, lounge music in the afternoon, deep house and nu-disco at sunset) will play daily and include special guest DJs on special days.
Playa del Carmen on the Yucatan Peninsula
Playa del Carmen, a former Mexican fishing village, is situated in the state of Quintana Roo at the heart of the Riviera Maya and is now the area’s fastest growing city. Purobeach Playa del Carmen is just a short walk from the city’s buzzing pedestrian area on the mile-long Fifth Avenue.
The Yucután Peninsula is known for its turquoise ocean, palm-lined beaches, coral reefs, aquamarine cenotes (limestone sinkholes), underground rivers, tropical vegetation, Mayan ruins and is equidistant from the busy city of Cancun (30 mins drive from the airport) and the boho-chic of Tulum (45 mins drive).
Growing the Puro Collection
The newest member of the collection is part of the group’s expansion from its original beach club in Palma, Mallorca. The Puro Group continues to expand its offering, seeking out hidden hotspots around the world to share with travellers. Crete in Greece, Taghazout Bay in Morocco and the Red Sea in Egypt is scheduled to open in 2018.
