Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill has partnered with boutique tea trading company Lalani & Co to create their first ever seasonal tea library of a collection of exquisite teas, produced by two artisan, family-run and sustainable tea gardens.

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has partnered with  boutique tea trading company Lalani & Co to create their first ever seasonal tea library of a collection of exquisite teas, produced by two artisan, family-run and sustainable tea gardens.

This prestige company is guided by their philosophy of  quality, provenance, seasonality and sustainability. They select and supply exceptional teas, ensuring quality and full provenance in a complex and often opaque market.

This bespoke collection of teas will be served with Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill’s Award winning Afternoon Tea. In addition, guests at The Montagu will also be able to enjoy a refreshing pot of tea throughout the day. Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has selected two gardens for their first collection. Each tea garden uses natural resources and organic methods to produce teas in limited lots.

Lakyrsiew Garden, India
LaKyrsiew is a young boutique estate in Meghalaya, India with a quality obsession. A bespoke brass rolling table, freshwater spring, virgin soil and organic cultivation create a stunning range of teas.

Spring Reserve 2011
A distinctive black tea with a loyal following of tea connoisseurs. This tea offers beautiful length with flavours of cocoa, sultanas and rose florals.

Silverleaf Green 2011
LaKyrsiew’s first green tea, picked on 11 November 2011. This smooth textured tea offers notes of pears.

The Winter White 2010
An artistic experimental white tea. The vibrant, downy leaves give notes of juniper, anise and liquorice root. Secondary notes are mango and citrus flavours.

Jun Chiyabari, Nepal

Himalayan Olong 2011
One of the world’s most exquisite oolongs. Soft and fruity then a touch of herbs and citrus. From the finest garden in Nepal, run by two brothers.

Golden Hand-Rolled Himalayan Tips 2012
This is  a very distinctive small lot of hand-rolled 1st flush black tea. Deep and captivating with smoky spice, amaretto sweetness, tobacco and warming wood aromas. Drinking superbly.In addition, the hotel will be serving Hada del Café. A directly sourced single origin cloud forest coffee from the Nicaraguan mountains. This top quality Arabica bean tastes deliciously smooth and supports an educational project for the children in this remote coffee growing community.

The Seasonal Tea Library will be served with Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill’s Award winning Afternoon Tea. As a member of the Tea Council’s ‘Tea Guild’, and awarded the prestigious Tea Guild’s ‘Award of Excellence 2012’ for the third consecutive year.
