The Gramercy Park Hotel has opened its revamped roof garden, 'The Gramercy Terrace' after weeks of renovations.

The most stylish rooftop in Manhattan just got a facelift. Perched on top of the iconic Gramercy Park Hotel on the 18th floor, Gramercy Terrace has reopened after eight weeks of renovations.

Inspired by Julian Schnabel’s rich, bold take on the Renaissance for the hotel’s décor, the makeover has resulted in a lush and inviting setting at the terrace with just the right tinge of glamour. Iconic artworks by Damien Hirst and Andy Warhol share space with custom-made furniture and accents. Romantic touches like flowing white curtains make it the perfect setting for a dream destination wedding or a private celebration.Mirroring the romance of the hotel interiors, glass lanterns hang amid the lush greenery of the roof garden trellises. Paying homage to a classic, sophisticated American-style menu, delicious breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch options will be served up by none other than Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group. The atmosphere of this lush, green oasis combines the Bohemian bustle of a Viennese coffeehouse with the charm of London’s private member’s clubs. A rich travertine marble bar mixes surprising twists to classic cocktails. The retractable glass roof, as well as a seamless indoor/outdoor seating area, makes the location the perfect getaway right in the heart of the city, year-round, come rain or shine.

A Twist to the Classic
Head chef Jeff Seizer, operating in a kitchen that’s now doubled in size, has created a special new menu for Gramercy Terrace with American classics and modern interpretations of favourite cocktails. Locally grown, seasonal produce as well as regional meat and fish are primarily served in the menu. Breakfast classics include poached eggs with honey-glazed ham, English muffin and hollandaise, bread pudding French toast with berries and sweet cream, and biscuit sandwich with house-made sausage, egg and American cheese. The highlight is the debut of the world-renowned Stumptown coffee bar at the Gramercy Terrace.

Perfect for the summer, lunch offers a refreshing chilled strawberry tomato soup; light, mouth-watering options like wellfleet oysters with bloody mary hot sauce, dill pickled celery and lemon wedges, and lobster roll with watermelon radish and grilled scallions; or hearty meals like buttermilk fried chicken and terrace clambake. The bartender has created new interpretations of classic cocktails, such as the Hemingway 75, made with gin, limes, and champagne, especially for the restaurant.

The Gramercy Terrace is an oasis in the heart of the pulsating metropolis, and offers one of the best views of Manhattan. This green sanctuary is like a private salon with the comfort of home. The location of the hotel lies adjacent to New York’s only private park, accessible only to residents and hotel guests.
