London’s newest international airport continues to extend and improve upon excellent service and quality products with an all-new bar and executive lounge in the passenger terminal, which have opened before the 2012 London Games.

London Southen Airport, Londons newest international airport, opens the Stobart First Class Lounge.The executive lounge, branded ‘Stobart First Class Lounge’ offers executive and luxury services to passengers, with complimentary WiFi, iPad stations, daily newspapers and magazines, hot and cold drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and snacks, as well as luxurious seating, massage chairs and 24 hour television news.  Thelounge welcomes Gold Circle Club Passengers, Business Class & Flex Fare Passengers (Aer Lingus), and Priority Pass Members, or, for an entry fee of just £18.95, passengers can access the lounge by paying upon entry or via annual membership.

Lakers Bar, situated on the upper floor of the departure lounge and named after founding father of accessible air travel Freddy Laker (who launched his fledgling business at London Southend Airport in 1949), is open daily for passengers flying from the airport.  Complete with aviation-themed children’s play area, the bar serves hot and cold beverages seven days a week.

The airport’s managing director, Alastair Welch, says: “We are continually adding to and improving the passenger experience at London Southend Airport, and our new bar and first class lounge in the passenger terminal are the latest examples of this.  We’re very excited to have these facilities open and fully operational in time for the very busy summer of 2012.”
