Nicknamed the Bully, as a nod to the piece of machinery which inspired its design, SevenFriday P3/3 pays tribute to the magnificiently efficient snow groomer.
There may be no snow in our tropical city state, but that is not stopping SevenFriday’s latest addition – the P3/3 – from hitting our shores this September. Judging from the rumblings on the social media front, the newest member of the P-series is already winning fans before it makes an official appearance in stores.
The P3/3 draws inspiration from the snow groomer – a fantastic piece of modern engineering with a focus on performance and efficiency. The machine moves and manipulates snow and is used to maintain ski hills, cross – country ski trails, snowmobile trails and so on. German brand, PistenBully is renowned for its range of snow groomers and it is from here that the unofficial nickname for the P3/3 – the Bully – came about.
What makes the P3/3 stand out is its white animation ring, symbolic of the pure white snow that the snow groomer works on. The grey PVD on the stainless steel watch case, which retains its signature squircle ( a term borne out of the words square and circle) shape, pays homage to the colour of the vehicle itself. Bright touches of orange, which is a colour often used on the snow groomer to ensure its visibility in snowy weather and terrains, enliven the watch dial. The key elements of the P- series dial is retained in the P3/3, which continues to feature five different layers on the dial. The exposed enscapement, 24-hour disk, and small seconds disk, intertwined with the hour and minute indicators all come together to give the watch its complex futuristic industrial look that many are now familiar with. The P3/3 is powered by the automatic Miyota 82S7 movement and comes with a matching grey rubber strap.
Tropical city – state or not, you now have the option of wearing a snow groomer – of sorts – on your wrist, thanks to the SevenFriday P3/3!
