Looking to give your gym sessions a shake-up? Head to BXR London – Anthony Joshua’s state-of-the-art boxing gym.

BXR is the latest addition to London’s ever-growing boutique fitness scene. There’s futuristic equipment, innovative cardio classes, designer Bergman Interior fittings and Malin & Goetz products in the changing rooms.

This ultra-luxurious gym is based in the heart of Marylebone. IBF Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua is an investor, and the gym is home to London’s most respected boxing coaches and elite trainers.

Review of BXR London the high-end boxing gym

The gym floor is members-only – requiring a fingerprint to enter. It’s super exclusive and regularly plays host to actors, singers, fashion models and ex-champion boxers. Downstairs, the pay-as-you-go fitness classes (open to everyone) are led by Insta-famous personal trainers.

We trialled their new ‘Sweat’ class. The name is apt; 45 minutes of fat-burning, high-intensity cardio that works your whole body.

Our energetic trainer guided us through a thorough warm-up, before whipping us into shape with challenging movements and modern equipment until our legs felt like jelly. It was challenging yet weirdly fun.

The dimly-lit studio, club-style music and enthusiastic trainers will have you torching serious calories, and the classes evolve so you’ll never get bored.

After your workout, you can grab a post-workout shake at BXR’s Joe & the Juice. Furthermore, don’t be surprised if you brush shoulders with a celebrity or two.

However, such exclusivity comes with a price tag at £1,500 per year for a full gym membership. But it’s worth it, after all, boxing is behind some of Hollywood’s best physiques.

Pay-as-you-go classes are £30 and available as drop-ins.
