“Gold But Never Old” – Vintage Cars Conquer Streets For Arlberg’s 10th Classic Car Rally

“Gold But Never Old” - Vintage Cars Conquer Streets For Arlberg’s 10th Classic Car Rally 2

Hiking really is the best medicine for the soul. And of course, you don’t have to put yourself through any rigorous exercise to enjoy the mountains. You can simply take a cable car to the top. I can highly recommend Rüfikopf. It takes a few minutes for the cable car to bring you to the Panorama Restaurant located at 2350m.

From here you can enjoy 360 degree panoramic views on the viewing platform where there is mountain peak upon mountain peak as far as the eye can see. Below, you can spot Oberlech, Tannberg, Zug and the Zugertal valley. Once back on the ground, they can be easily accessed by the well-connected blue village bus which you can also use to reach Lake Körbersee, which was voted the most beautiful place in Austria in 2017.

Post Lech hotel swimming pool

With so much crammed into the four days in Lech, I was only too pleased to be able to enjoy the spa at our hotel at the end of each day. Set over three floors, the spa and wellness centre features a Finnish sauna, salt steam baths, Arolla pine relaxation area and two swimming pools.

But it was the 15-metre heated outdoor pool with unrestricted panoramic views of Omeshorn mountain and Ebra garden I gravitated towards and which made the trip so memorable.
