Six Senses Yao Noi Beyond Phuket is delighted to host TV personality Chef Andrea Golino and Wine Expert / Sommelier Harshal Shah for a week of dinners, cooking classes and wine tastings from March 30th to April 4th, 2012.

Six Senses are delighted to announce the exclusive visit to Thailand of the famed TV personality and “Cookmedian” Andrea Golino.Six Senses are delighted to announce the exclusive visit to Thailand of the famed TV personality and “Cookmedian” Andrea Golino. Accompanying him will be wine expert and sommelier Harshal Shah, whose passion for wine is the perfect complement to Andrea’s unique personality. They will both be with us for a very limited time, early reservations are highly recommended.

Andrea Golino has had a most interesting path to the culinary field, having originally decided to become an actor. Finally his heritage overcame, and he studied and worked to become a Chef, never quite able to shake off the acting background, after a series of roles in TV shows and movies. Andrea’s unique interpretation of food and his penchant for challenging culinary rules has earned him the nickname “Chef Guevara” along with his other nickname “The Cookmedien”. Italian flair, passion and natural culinary ability have equipped Andrea with unique skills which led him to the role leading “Personal Chef”, one of Italy’s most watched culinary series. Globe trotting wine expert and sommelier Harshal Shah will join Andrea for the events, imparting his knowledge and sharing anecdotes of his visits to vineyards around the world.

Friday 30th March 2012   GM’s sunset cocktails Old World vs New World wines – 7 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Enjoy the sunset over the spectacular view of the World Heritage site classified Phang Nga limestone karsts from our exclusive Hilltop Reserve with its infinity edge swimming pool. Wine expert and sommelier Harshal Shah will present his selection of wines from Six Senses Yao Noi’s extensive wine list, comparing Old and New World wines of the same varieties and explain the differences and why they occur.

Saturday 31st March 2012   Cooking class – Pasta Andrea’s way – midday until 2 p.m.
Join us at the Chef’s table where Chef Andrea will guide us through his secrets for making pasta, gained through years of experience.
This class is limited to 10 people only. Wine expert and sommelier Harshal Shah will be there too, to offer some wines to make your cooking even better!

Sunday 1st April 2012 (lunchtime)   Cooking class – Pizza by the “Cookmedian” – midday until 2 p.m.
At the Chef’s table once again Andrea will reveal his renowned style in a fun cooking class making pizzas, then baking them in our custom built pizza oven. Wine expert and sommelier Harshal Shah will be there too, to offer some wines to make your cooking even better!
This class is limited to 10 people only.

Sunday 1st April 2012 (dinner)   Wine game with dinner at The Hilltop Reserve – from 7:30 p.m.
A light four course dinner in the relaxed atmosphere of the Hilltop Reserve with paired wines by the glass will be served. Each course will have a fun and simple mini quiz, guiding each couple to arrive at an assisted conclusion as to the identity of the wine. The couple who come closest to identifying the wine of each course will win a bottle of that wine! So; 4 chances to win 4 bottles of wine! Sure to be a fun evening, this event is limited to 10 couples only.

Monday 2nd April 2012   “Interactive demo 1” – Appetizer to dessert in miniature
The Chef’s Table and Dining Room  7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Chef Andrea will prepare live his renowned “dishes in miniature” – an entertaining evening where guests can interact with Andrea while he and the Six Senses Yao Noi team prepare the dinner at the Chef’s table. Limited to 20 guests only.

Tuesday 3rd April 2012   “Interactive demo 2” – Wine menu – dishes cooked with wine, by Andrea and Harshal
The Chef’s Table and Dining Room – 7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Andrea will once again be on centre stage at The Chef’s Table preparing a 4 course dinner using wine in all courses. Harshal will provide pairings of wines for each course. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with Chef Andrea and the Six Senses culinary team while he prepares each course in the open kitchen of our Chef’s Table.

Wednesday 4th April 2012   “The Grand Finale” – The Hilltop Reserve – 7 p.m.
Chef Andrea and Harshal will be in full flight – hosting the unique “Communal table” at The Hilltop Reserve. Guests will dine family style on the great table poolside with Andrea and Harshal sharing platters of Andrea’s favourite Italian comfort foods. A welcome cocktail will be served while the sun sets at The Hilltop Reserve.
