The Luxury Of Sleep And Rest: Aerotel Opens Its Doors At LHR T3

The much anticipated Aerotel, the short-stay hotel brand by airport services provider Plaza Premium Group, has finally opened its doors at London Heathrow’s Terminal 3 – just in time for Christmas. Sabi Phagura takes a look.

It’s the first landside hotel to be based at the terminal and is just minutes away from the arrivals hall. It’s targeted at those who arrive before a flight wanting to relax and recuperate.

Rooms are bookable for between six and 24 hours, and at any time around the clock. The latest addition joins the award-winning Plaza Premium Lounges already based at Terminal 2, 4 and 5.

There are three room types – solo (10 square metres), double (14 square metres) and family (38 square metres). The 82 rooms spread over two floors have a private bathroom complete with a powerful shower, towels and toiletries, a pillow menu, free WiFi and a wake-up call service.

Extra frills include a lounge space called the Library Lounge which has sofas, charging points as well as snacks. Those wanting a decent hot meal can order food from the all-day à la carte menu.

Song Hoi-see, CEO of Plaza Premium Group, explained their newest edition was launched to meet the needs of international guests asking for a comfortable space to sleep when they land early or late at night as well as London residents taking unsociable hour flights.

“Aerotel London Heathrow is our answer to travellers’ pain points.” said Song. “Heathrow is our long-time partner, and we appreciate their trust and support over the past years. We are confident to become an integral part of the airport and uplift the airport hospitality experience for all travellers.”

Although the hotel has been nearly ready for more than a year, some confusion was caused as the signage has been in place for some time. It can be found just two minutes’ walk away from the arrivals hall and is a short walk from the nearest central bus station.

John Arbuckle, Heathrow’s Head of Property added: “We are delighted to have worked with Aerotel to bring Heathrow passengers this new, comfortable, modern hotel in Terminal 3 Arrivals. This will be really valuable for customers in need of a quiet haven to rest, relax and prepare for their onward journey.”
