Belvedere Gardens at Southbank Place has Opened its Doors to Residents

Belvedere Gardens at Southbank Place

Belvedere Gardens, the new high-end development at Southbank Place, has welcomed its first residents following successful completion.

With all available apartments sold off-plan, the final phase of 19 two and three-bedroom apartments have been released onto the market, showcased by two fully-dressed show apartments located on the 12th and 13th floors. Prices for these remaining units start from £2.25 million.

Developed by Braeburn Estates, the development benefits from street frontage onto Belvedere Road, adjacent to the Shell Tower. The front-facing apartments have views onto Jubilee Gardens, the London Eye, the River Thames and the Houses of Parliament. The remainder looks onto County Hall and over the Southbank Place public squares.

One of London’s most anticipated developments, Belvedere Gardens has been inspired by the Festival of Britain, which took place on the site in 1951. The visually striking exterior pays homage to the Festival’s emblem, the ‘Festival Star’, which is embossed and debossed across the façade. The mixture of light and bronze colour panels also echo the Shell Centre and nearby Palace of Westminster, giving the building a true sense of belonging on the South Bank.

The interiors have been conceived by specialists Goddard Littlefair, with designs that maximise the living spaces and accentuate the views.

Fixtures and fittings complement the character of the building, with bronze door handles, bronze-finished Dornbracht mixer-taps and bespoke chandeliers. All of these were exclusively handcrafted for Belvedere Gardens to create one-of-a-kind homes.

Entered through a grand oak panelled door, one of the standout features of each apartment is the impressive entrance hallways, which are complete with light and dark marble flooring. Double doors lead onto the open-plan kitchen/dining area, equipped with Miele appliances, polished marble worktops and breakfast bar. The main living area benefits from floor-to-ceiling windows that fill the room with natural light and provide spectacular panoramic views. Spacious terraces or Juliet balconies provide outside space and the ideal setting to take in the unique surroundings.

Apartments also include spacious bathrooms with full-size bath, walk-in rain shower and bespoke cabinetry. Master bedrooms include opulent walk-in wardrobes and connected bathroom suites, with guest bedrooms featuring full-height wardrobe units.

The bedrooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with some having aluminium panels on the exterior. These panels interact with sunlight making the building appear to evolve and take new shape throughout the day; they also provide privacy, while maximising light into the room.

Richard Oakes, Sales & Marketing Director, Europe, Qatari Diar, said: “To achieve completion at Belvedere Gardens is an important milestone for the development. Alongside the opening of the offices and commercial spaces, as well as the Underground entrance Southbank Place is coming to life. Residents moving in and those visiting will get a real sense of the lifestyle benefits afforded here.”

Brian De’ath, Director of Residential Sales at Canary Wharf Group, said: “Belvedere Gardens is the first residential building completed by the Canary Wharf Group, so it was imperative that we delivered an exceptional product alongside our partners at Qatari Diar and we couldn’t be happier with the end result. The purchasers moving in can now benefit from everything the building offers, whilst I’m confident that potential buyers will be blown away by the interior finishes and incredible views on offer.”
