For the coming Chinese New Year 2020 celebrations, The Cakery has introduced vegan and organic interpretations of traditional Chinese festive treats.

Offering the city’s first-ever range of organic, sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan baked desserts, The Cakery has delighted health-conscious Hong Kongers since day one. Its string of successful pop-ups led to the opening of permanent shops in The Landmark and Lee Gardens Two.

New Vegan and Organic Chinese New Year Gift Boxes
The Cakery introduces four types of ready-made gift boxes filled with sweet and savoury guilt-free treats. Early bird discounts* are available from now – 10 January 2020, and bulk discounts are applicable for orders of 25-50 boxes at 15% off and 20% off orders of 50+ boxes.

For vegans or those limited in food choices due to dietary needs, this year’s Chinese New Year celebrations will be one to remember.

The vegan CNY Cookie & Chocolate Gift Box (HK$358) features an assortment of Short Date made with red dates, brown rice flour, tapioca flour, vegan butter, maple syrup and vanilla extract, Almond Cookie created with vegan butter, organic cane sugar, almond powder and almond, Sugar-Free Chocolate Thins made with sugar-free dark chocolate with beautifully printed “福” (which stands for Luck in Chinese) characters, and Milk Oolong Cookie made with vegan butter, handcrafted oolong tea and plain flour etc.

The vegan Red Sugar Rice Cake (HK$228) is a delicious alternative to the traditional sugar- and high-calorie Chinese New Year pudding, made with glutinous rice flour, coconut milk, canola oil, red sugar and wheat flour.

Believed to bring prosperity for the coming year, our vegan Red Date Cake (HK$238) is made with red date, red date sugar, glutinous rice flour, chestnut flour, tapioca flour and goji berry, packaged in a festive red box.

The box of 6 organic Chinese New Year-themed Fondant Cookie Set (HK$398) comprises beautifully decorated fondant art cookies such as Rat (HK$70), Firecrackers (HK$65), Koi (HK$65), Tangerine (HK$65) and Flower (HK$60), with each cookie available to purchase individually.

Vegan Chinese New Year Afternoon Tea Set
Available between 1 January and 8 February 2020, The Cakery unveils a limited-time afternoon tea set themed on traditional Chinese New Year dishes that represent good fortune.

The savoury selection of vegan and health-conscious bites includes Omni Pork Dumpling, Omni Pork Lotus Root Cake and Turnip Cake. Sweet treats include Red Sugar Sweet Rice Cake, Mini Cupcake, Mango Chia Pudding, Mandarin Citrus Tart and Mandarin Mantou. The vegan Chinese New Year set is priced at HK$488 for two guests.
