New Cruiseship Celebrity Edge takes a step closer in its preparation to become ready to fulfil its comprehensive Caribbean sailing itinerary ahead.
Celebrity Cruises has offered the world a glimpse of what will be the brand’s first ship in a new class in more than 10 years, as Celebrity Edge leaves the dry dock at the STX France shipyard.

“The float out process marks a milestone in the building of Celebrity Edge. With exterior construction complete, the amazing STX France team will now turn their attention to bringing all of the meticulously designed venues and transformational staterooms and suites to life.”
Celebrity Edge will spend her inaugural season sailing alternating seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries before transporting guests to the stunning vistas of the Mediterranean with a range of seven- to 11-night sailings from iconic cities like Barcelona and Rome in 2019.
For those travellers requiring a slightly longer sailing, Celebrity Cruises also have the option to book back-to-back sailings resulting in a 14-night experience:
- Maiden Voyage West: A seven-night western Caribbean cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on 9 December 2018, and visiting Key West Florida; Costa Maya (Mexico), Cozumel (Mexico) and George Town (Grand Cayman)
- Maiden Voyage East: The previously announced seven-night eastern Caribbean cruise departing from Ft. Lauderdale on 16 December 2018, and visiting San Juan (Puerto Rico), Tortola (British Virgin Islands) and Philipsburg (St. Maarten)
In addition to the alternating maiden voyages, Celebrity Cruises will also be offering four new Edge Preview Sailings, perfect for eager guests who simply can’t wait to get a taste of luxury. These three-night Bahamas cruises will also sail round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, departing on 21 November, 24 November, 3 December, and 6 December.
Homeporting in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Celebrity Edge will be making her first sailing on 21 November 2018.
