The Chic and the sleek of Malaysian society turn up at the re-opening party of Christian Dior’s flagship boutique in the swanky Starhill Gallery, reports Ong Chin Huat.
The Starhill Gallery Dior Flagship Boutique interior emulates the design concept of Dior’s legendary boutique on 30 Avenue Montiagne in Paris by Peter Marino, combining 18th century details blended with modern elements to achieve a feminine and glamorous aesthetic. This reflects the traditional and contemporary elegance of Dior, offering a luxurious environment for Dior clients. This boutique evokes the atmosphere of a luxurious contemporary apartment, showcasing an impressive collection of women’s ready-to-wear, handbags, shoes, accessories and timepiece collections.
Entering the boutique, clients are welcomed by Dior’s “World of Bags”, with a constellation of “StarLED” lights made with Swarovski Elements studs across the ceiling. The luxurious marble flooring inspired by Dior’s signature “Cannage” quilting pattern reflects the quintessence of French aesthetics and the codes of Dior.
The Starhill Gallery Dior Boutique highlights a dedicated space for Timepieces, where the luxury ambiance and exquisite décors are meticulously juxtaposed to orchestrate a charming environment for customers to admire the stunning creations, manufactured at its atelier in the Swiss watch making cradle – “La Chaux-de-Fonds”.
Upon entering the ready-to-wear salon, visitors are surrounded by a feeling of being invited to Monsieur Dior’s private salon, with a beautiful Swarovski crystal chandelier across the ceiling featuring art furniture by Laurent Chauvat and Vincent Corbiere. One will discover the traditional French marble fireplace of Dior surrounded by an array of extravagant evening dresses. Leading towards the VIP Salon is an area dedicated to an exclusive fragrance area, featuring top of the line fragrance by Dior “Collection Privée”.
To enhance the rich and luxurious atmosphere, Dior commissioned several contemporary artists to design works of art for the boutique that reflect the codes of the house. One of the key features of the salon is a Louis XVI style delicately carved marble fireplace.
