Cumbria Crystal Shines In Bentley’s Centenary Concept Car

Cumbria Crystal and Bentley Motors come together for the EXP 100 GT.

Cumbria Crystal has joined forces with Bentley Motors once again to create a bespoke centrepiece for their centenary concept car – the long-awaited EXP 100 GT.

The team at Cumbria Crystal worked closely with Bentley to provide the framework for the heart of the company’s Artificial Intelligence (AI). The seamlessly integrated AI, known as the ‘Bentley Personal Assistant’ enables users to make commands through hand gestures made to the front or rear interfaces, and enhances the owner’s Grand Touring experience.

AI is controlled in the EXP 100 GT via an illuminated Cumbria Crystal centrepiece and control centre, set in five layers. The main console shines to create stunning visual effects with its ambient lighting technology, enabling the vehicle to recreate a specific mood or exterior environment through the glass.

Cumbria Crystal has had a long-standing relationship with Bentley.

Cumbria Crystal’s Managing Director, Chris Blade said: “Bentley prides itself on working with the best luxury manufacturers around the UK, and as the last producer of completely hand-blown and hand-cut crystal in England, we at Cumbria Crystal are truly honoured to be a part of this extraordinary milestone. The EXP 100GT epitomises true craftsmanship.”

Adrian Hallmark, Bentley Motors Chairman and CEO, added: “On our centenary, we demonstrate our vision of the future of our marque, with the Bentley EXP 100 GT – a modern and definitive Grand Tourer designed to demonstrate that the future of luxury mobility is as inspirational and aspirational as the last 100 years.”

Cumbria Crystal has had a long-standing relationship with Bentley. In 2017, they were awarded an exclusive contract by the marque to produce luxury crystal champagne flutes for the new Bentayga Mulliner. The skilled Cumbrian artisans also designed and created crystal for the launch of the Continental GT, as well as tumbler and decanter sets for the Mulsanne W.O. Edition by Mulliner, which pays tribute to Bentley’s founder. Cumbria Crystal has also supplied all the crystal for the upcoming Downton movie.
