True To Its Motto ‘The Beauty Of Audacity,’ the Swiss brand de Grisogono creates artistic jewellery that shimmers its way into many a heart
This September, de Grisogono promises to add more sparkle to its coveted designs with a high jewellery collection, Folies.
The new Folies line will be unveiled at the Biennale des Antiquaires in Paris. Into its 28 edition, the Biennale runs from September 10 to 18.
Fawaz Gruosi, founder and creative director, loves to play with texture, lights, cuts, shapes and movement, giving classic designs a contemporary and, often, edgy twist. Powerful forms, arresting shapes and unexpected compositions in gems are the high point of de Grisogono’s designs. This time too, it’s no different. The Folies high jewellery pieces celebrate large, important and precious gems in colourful combinations of emeralds, rubies and black diamonds.
Among the jewels being showcased at the Biennale is a pair of drop earrings crafted in 18k white gold and titanium. The Folies earrings – accented with 10 round-cut white diamonds enclosed within a ring of pavéd black diamonds – is an ode to de Grisogono’s signature carbonados pattern.
Another lovely piece featuring a cluster of 47 briolette-cut rubies is a statement 62 carat ring, with ruby adorned prongs that together hold the central stone – a 14 carat round-cut diamond. The blossom shaped 18k pink gold ring has a shank embellished with ruby gems.
Showstopper rings are a staple in any high jewellery collection and Folies doesn’t disappoint. With a 10 carat emerald-cut white diamond, framed by a cluster of 200 bright green emeralds, the 18k white gold ring features an elaborate shank comprising five rows of rings – all paved with 472 white diamonds.
