Launched in the autumn of 2012, Wiltshire/London-based Tom Faulkner’s Exe dining table has become an instant classic.
The stunning Exe Dining Table is made from wood and steel, its strong, simple lines are the perfect fusion of modern and traditional style, as much at home in country kitchens as city apartments.
Now, the Tom Faulkner Exe can be made in a wide range of specialist finishes. Its distinctive cross legs can be fabricated in polished stainless steel or can be patinated or hand-painted to order. The imposing 40mm solid timber top comes in walnut, oak and other hardwoods to special commission. Available in three standard sizes, the Exe can also be sized to order to fit an individual space.
The beauty of Tom Faulkner’s furniture designs lies in their purity of line, allowing the materials and craftsmanship to speak for themselves. This is handmade metal furniture at its highest expression; flowing forms with perfect proportions and minimal ornamentation. It was the strength and workability of steel which led Tom to begin designing sophisticated metal furniture. With its high strength-to-volume ratio, even slender sections can be incredibly strong, allowing him to create the charismatic, sculptural shapes which have become his hallmark.
At Tom Faulkner’s Wiltshire workshops, a team of craftsmen work to the extraordinary levels of precision which his designs demand. New designs challenge them to develop these skills still further. Dining tables and chairs, together with coffee, console and side tables form the core of the collection, which also includes lighting, mirrors and candlesticks.
