After a five-year hiatus, the prestigious Gault&Millau Yellow Guide — one of the world’s leading restaurant guides — is making its grand return to Poland.
From May 15, 2025, local inspectors will once again visit and evaluate over 350 restaurants across the country, from major cities to hidden gems in smaller towns. Their findings will culminate in the guide’s official relaunch at a high-profile gala event in January 2026.
Gault & Millau has been shaping culinary standards since its founding by French critics Henri Gault and Christian Millau in 1969. Celebrated for promoting creativity, excellence, and emerging trends in gastronomy, the Yellow Guide is regarded as one of the world’s two most influential restaurant guides.

Smarten Agency will publish the guide in Poland, and its owner, Jacek Krawczyk, will serve as General Manager. “The guide’s return is fantastic news for Polish gastronomy,” says Krawczyk. “It will help restaurateurs and chefs assess and elevate their standards while attracting greater international culinary tourism.”
The new Gault&Millau Polska edition promises higher entry standards and a broader focus, highlighting head chefs, pastry chefs, sommeliers, and restaurant managers.
Emphasising quality over quantity, the guide will evaluate service, ambience, wine lists, and overall concept coherence alongside cuisine.
The Yellow Guide’s comeback comes amid a booming Polish culinary scene, where dining out, regional exploration, and gastronomic tourism are increasingly popular. Gault&Millau’s trusted evaluations will provide a beacon for food lovers seeking exceptional experiences across Poland.
Patrick Hayoun, the CEO of Gault&Millau France & International, said, “The last edition, published in 2020, listed 540 restaurants throughout Poland – from the great culinary capitals to the more discreet regions.
It already reflected the guide’s openness to a wider audience: published in two languages, Polish and English, it helped to spread the word about Polish gastronomy beyond its borders among travellers, professionals and the curious from all over the world. Today, in 2025, we are relaunching this project with new energy, a strong local team, and still the founding values of Gault & Millau.”
