The 21-bedroom majestic Relais & Châteaux Hotel, Glenapp Castle, is a magical escape for those seeking a breath of fresh air far from the noise and bustle of everyday life.
As wellness-driven travel continues to be a major trend in 2025, the Castle’s serene and secluded setting, positioned along the breathtaking Ayrshire coast, offers a peaceful retreat from the demands of daily life.
Guests can lose themselves within the 110 acres of private estate, manicured gardens and local woodland or venture out to the exquisite Scottish countryside for long romantic walks and beautiful views of Ailsa Craig and Northern Ireland.
Glenapp Castle offers a range of unique experiences, perfect for those seeking adventure, relaxation, and a connection with nature. One standout experience is the Castle’s unique Hebridean Sea Safari, providing guests with the chance to explore the stunning Scottish Isles.
Guests embark on a two-night coastal exploration aboard the Glenapp rib boat, followed by two nights at the historic Castle. This experience combines luxurious accommodations, delicious meals prepared by a private chef, and breathtaking views of Scottish sunsets. Ideal for those looking to unwind, the Hebridean Sea Safari serves as a perfect retreat, offering ample time to reconnect with nature and marine life.
Managing Director Jill Chalmers said, “At Glenapp Castle, we believe wellbeing goes beyond spa treatments—it’s about providing a unique, holistic experience that allows travellers to reconnect with nature, rejuvenate the mind, and find inner peace.
“Our expansive estate, stunning views, accommodation, food and beverage offerings, and tailored wellbeing-focused experiences create an environment where our guests can truly enjoy a breath of fresh air. We’re excited to continue expanding our wellbeing offerings in 2025 to ensure each guest leaves feeling not only refreshed but deeply restored.”
Another extraordinary offering at Glenapp Castle is a boat trip to Ailsa Craig, an iconic volcanic rock formation off the Ayrshire coast. Known for its wildlife sanctuary, Ailsa Craig is home to over 40,000 sea birds and the summit, rising 1,100 feet above sea level and providing spectacular panoramic views.
Locally famous as the source of Scottish curling stones, the island offers a serene escape. Guests can book a private boat trip to Ailsa Craig for a relaxing and insightful day out.
One of Glenapp Castle’s most unique wellbeing experiences is wild swimming, where guests can learn about the mental and physical benefits of submerging in cold water, such as improved circulation and reduced stress levels.
Whether taking a dip in a local Loch or taking the plunge into the wonderful Scottish seas, swimming in these natural bodies of water is the ultimate way to refresh, invigorate, and get back in touch with nature.
Glenapp Castle offers over 75 indoor and outdoor pursuits for those seeking something a little more active, with many designed to help guests restore and recharge, including digital detoxes and yoga sessions.
For a deeper connection to the world, forest bathing is a must—where guests venture into the charming, enchanting Glen, with its dappled sunlight and long-standing trees for guided meditation and mindfulness, engaging all the senses in a calming, rejuvenating experience.
After a day of exploration, guests can unwind with a wholesome, delicious meal at The Azalea, soon to be reimagined as The Azalea by Glenapp Castle and set to open in May 2025.
Nestled within the Estate’s historic Victorian Glasshouse and original Bothy, this newly opened restaurant will provide a unique, intimate dining experience surrounded by lush greenery and an abundance of natural light.
Situated within the Estate’s gardens, the glasshouse creates a serene, botanical atmosphere. The space will feel more relaxed and airy, with views of the surrounding gardens and a focus on seed-to-service dining, often showcasing fresh produce from the Estate itself.
The restaurant will also debut an innovative cocktail menu inspired by the region’s finest flavours. This dining venue will provide a lighter, more contemporary option for those looking for a closer connection to nature, compared to the main restaurant, which offers a more formal and traditional dining experience set within the grandeur and historical elegance of the Castle itself.
The Azalea by Glenapp Castle will still stand as an exceptional venue for private dining, weddings and afternoon tea, upholding its reputation for timeless elegance.
As one of Scotland’s most iconic luxury destinations, Glenapp Castle is known for its exceptional service, breathtaking views, and rich history. It’s home to the award-winning The Castle Penthouse Suite (below), the largest in Scotland, and offers exquisite accommodation, food, and beverage offerings.
As Glenapp Castle continues to focus on expanding its wellbeing offerings, now is the time to book a stay for those in search of a more wellness-focused experience this year.
