Heckfield Place, Hampshire’s High-End Hotel, That Feels Like A Home

Heckfield Place

With Heckfield Place and its 400 acres opening in the Autumn, Jeremy Webb was eager to investigate the interior and grounds of this beautiful property, along with all it has to offer.

Opening this September, the brand new hotel, Heckfield Place, will offer its guests tranquillity and an escape from outside issues. Once you enter the beautiful grounds shaped over centuries, you will feel the stress ebb away.

A beautiful Georgian building will be home for your stay, where you can do as much or as little as you want. Although the building is 250 years old, the interior is modern but sympathetically done so the history is not lost.

Walk around the estate, visit the farm and stroll through the woodlands. The gorgeous gardens produce ingredients used in the kitchens and then serve to the guests. Take in a film in the hotel’s screening room or relax in the intimate Moon bar.

In your room, you will find it completely individual from all others on the estate. Each is styled with natural materials by artisans to the highest level. You have six room types to choose from, some in the main building and others within the estate grounds.

Room Types
Friends rooms are simple and intimate, all with views of the surrounding gardens. They are in the corridors of the main building.

Located within the main building and corridors, Guest rooms are beautiful retreats offering views of the gardens. Looking for a larger room? Opt for one of the Chamber rooms, totally elegant with stunning garden views.

A taster of one of the rooms

Master rooms have plenty of space to spread out, enjoy the luxurious fittings and view the estate gardens. For guests wanting even more room and opulence, the Signature rooms each have a story to tell.

If you want the service of staying in a hotel but the freedom of being away, then Heckfield Place offers the Church Lodge, a two-bedroom cottage within the estate. Solitude and peace yet within reach of so many facilities to use.

The Spa
The Little Bothy is Heckfield Place’s Spa, with treatments, exclusive products, and a perfect location to workout. Get an early morning Yoga class in then have a relaxing massage before lunch. Later, unwind in the steam room.

Dining at Heckfield Place

Dining
Heckfield Place offers a good number of places to dine or bars to grab a drink. Marle is one of the fine dining restaurants, serving locally, bio-dynamically grown ingredients. It simplifies the cooking to allow diners to taste produce straight from the ground.

The Hearth is centred around an open fire with the theme of simple cooking from classic methods. Using the very best produce from day to day, the menu changes, giving a different dining experience each visit.

In the intimate Dining room, food is served to you and your fellow guests at a long table, giving a communal feel. It is exquisite private dining. Skye Gyngell is the Chef, and she believes in local, seasonal ingredients cooked simply and served at their freshest.

In the Cellar, beneath the house, you will find superb wines, helped by the resident Sommelier. There are both new producers and well-established houses to choose from.

If cocktails are more to your taste, sample them in the Moon bar, which comes to life when the sun goes down. It is Heckfield’s most intimate meeting place, where infusions are concocted, and the mixologists design unique creations for you.

A stay of any length at Heckfield Place will not disappoint; in fact, it will delight. There is plenty to do on-site, or you can just indulge in total relaxation in your gorgeous room. You won’t forget your experience in the tranquillity of the estate.

Located south of the M4 with excellent road links to London and the rest of the Country, Heckfield Place is in an ideal position to get to. Bookings are being taken now for the September opening.
