Having opened earlier this month, Hotel Nangu is a stylish adults-only boutique hotel, situated on the remote shores of Lake Inari in northern Finland, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle.
The UK’s only dedicated Northern Lights holiday company, The Aurora Zone, has just released new images that capture the hotel’s first major solar storm. The images were taken this week by Matt Robinson, one of the company’s experienced wilderness guides and photographers, who described the scene:

In all my years of hunting the Northern Lights, I have never seen it quite like this. Guests screamed in joy at this ethereal light show as it put on an unforgettable display above this picturesque hotel, creating some truly special memories.”
The 24-bedroom Hotel Nangu is formed of a collection of elegant log buildings, boasting a communal traditional Finnish sauna and panoramic views over the lake.
