Tate has announced a new merchandise collaboration with the iconic American artist Jenny Holzer, continuing a longstanding relationship centred on her use of language in the public realm.
Available exclusively in Tate shops from now on, this new capsule collection features Holzer’s signature text-based work across a thoughtfully designed range of sustainable products.
The collection spans fashion, homewares, and textiles, featuring a bold yet functional mix of everyday essentials and design-led pieces.

Highlights include T-shirts and hoodies, holdall bags, caps, and socks, alongside a range of home items including cups and saucers, reusable takeaway cups, tea towels, and a handwoven rug.

Each item carries Holzer’s unmistakable voice and is made to last.
Holzer’s relationship with Tate includes ARTIST ROOMS: Jenny Holzer, 2018, and her striking light projection on Tate Modern’s chimney in 2021, created to draw attention to the climate emergency.
More recently, four of her engraved marble benches were on display at Tate Modern as part of the exhibition ARTIST ROOMS: Art and Text.
Currently on view at Tate Modern are Holzer’s Inflammatory Essays — a series of posters from 1979–82, originally plastered across New York City streets, which invite us to consider the urgent necessity of social change, the possibility for manipulation of the public, and the conditions that attend revolution.

This new collection draws on some of the most arresting lines from Holzer’s Truisms and Survival series – including PROTECT ME FROM WHAT I WANT and ABUSE OF POWER COMES AS NO SURPRISE – emblazoned across responsibly crafted fashion and lifestyle pieces.
At the heart of the collaboration is a strong commitment to sustainability and ethical production. The collection features eco-conscious apparel by I Dress Myself, a Somerset-based manufacturer that utilises organic cotton, eco-friendly water-based inks, and plastic-free embroidery.
Additionally, it includes a handwoven rug created in partnership with Christopher Farr and fair-trade artisan weavers. Packaging and production have been developed in consultation with Cotton Diaries and certified by Label STEP.

Rosey Blackmore, Tate’s Head of Licensing, said, “Jenny Holzer’s words have always demanded attention. This collection invites a slower, more intimate encounter with her work – on clothing and in the home – while aligning with our commitment to ethical sourcing and environmental care.”
Jenny will be donating all proceeds from her Tate collection to help more people experience and engage with art.
This collaboration not only reinforces Jenny’s enduring influence on contemporary culture but also reflects Tate’s mission to champion innovative, inclusive, and sustainable design.
The Jenny Holzer: Exclusively for Tate collection will be available in-store and online from 31 July 2025.
