Blenheim Palace Introduces the ‘Ladies of Blenheim’ Display

Blenheim Palace Launches Ladies of Blenheim and Meet the Collections Experience

UNESCO World Heritage Site Blenheim Palace has launched two new exciting experiences this summer, offering visitors exclusive access to rarely seen treasures, along with intimate insights into the lives of the women who have shaped its 300-year history.

Ladies of Blenheim: Style and Celebration is an elegant display that offers a rare glimpse into the wardrobes and iconic moments of the Spencer-Churchill women, revealing the fashion worn at historic weddings, coronations, and other grand occasions.

Available to view from June 28th until August 31st, many of the gowns, accessories, and heirloom pieces are being showcased for the first time in over 20 years due to their delicate condition. Each item offers a glimpse into the personal and national milestones that have echoed through the Palace’s long and storied past.

In addition, an all-new interactive ‘Meet the Collections Team’ experience will be available from Friday to Sunday at 2 pm, running every weekend from July to October. Visitors will be able to join Blenheim Palace’s expert Collections Team as they reveal their favourite artefacts and the fascinating stories which accompany them.

From newly conserved Boulle coffers, crafted by Louis XIV’s cabinetmaker, to a magnificent 18th-century Battle of Arbela tapestry not seen for a century, these talks will offer a front-row seat to the craftsmanship, conservation, and history that lives within Britain’s Greatest Palace.

Collections and Conservation Manager Carmen Alvarez said, “This summer, we’re inviting visitors to Blenheim Palace to spend some time with us not only to view extraordinary items but to connect with the stories, celebrations and craftsmanship bringing history to life in a truly personal way.”

This year, the Palace is marking 75 years since first opening its doors to the public with a summer of celebration featuring ’75 Things To Do’ and more across the Palace, Park, Gardens and its family attraction Adventure Play. From history lovers to young families and adventure seekers, the summer-long anniversary celebration promises something exciting for everyone.

Admission to the new Ladies of Blenheim exhibition and Meet the Collections Team are included with a valid Palace & Gardens Ticket or Palace and Play Pass, which grants access to both Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a full year, making it fantastic value to enjoy all that Britain’s Greatest Palace has to offer.
