LG OLED Technology Lights Up Frieze London By Fusing Art With Technology

London once again became the vibrant hub of creativity as Frieze London 2025 brought the world’s artistic spirit to life. Among the dazzling array of exhibitions, LG stole the show by blending the timeless beauty of Korean modern art with the cutting-edge brilliance of LG OLED technology.

At the heart of LG’s showcase were the mesmerising works of Se Ok Suh (1929-2020), a true pioneer of modern Korean abstract ink painting. His art was brought to dazzling new life through the imaginative vision of his sons — Do Ho Suh, a celebrated contemporary artist, and Eul Ho Suh, a visionary architect.

Together with LG’s ultra-sleek OLED screens, they transformed these timeless ink masterpieces into a vibrant, immersive experience.

Think of LG’s SIGNATURE OLED T transparent TV and LG OLED evo TVs as giant digital canvases, where each brushstroke from Se Ok Suh’s famous “People” series danced with movement and light. Thanks to the OLED’s perfect contrast and glow, every mark seemed to breathe, inviting visitors into a captivating dialogue between tradition and technology.

The exhibition space, designed by Eul Ho Suh, reflected this seamless flow. Instead of simply looking at art, visitors felt part of it — experiencing a fascinating interaction where age-old creativity met tomorrow’s innovation.

Beyond the buzz of Frieze, the exhibition continued at the Korean Cultural Centre UK, with Se Ok Suh’s works displayed on LG’s impressive 83-inch OLED TV. This collaboration isn’t just about technology or legacy; it’s a heartfelt celebration of Korean heritage shared with a wider audience, complete with a documentary exploring Se Ok Suh’s inspiring creative journey.

LG also deepened its cultural ties by partnering with London’s National Gallery, sponsoring the “Unexpected View” program — a thoughtful series bringing curators and cultural innovators together to rethink and rediscover art classics. It’s a brilliant way to spark fresh conversations and inspire new ways of seeing.

Daniel F. Herrmann, the National Gallery’s Ardalan Curator of Modern and Contemporary Projects, perfectly summed it up: working with LG allows the gallery to honour its heritage while pushing the boundaries of modern and contemporary art engagement.

With its dynamic presence at Frieze London and active cultural partnerships, LG continues to push digital art’s limits. Through LG OLED ART, it’s not just showcasing technology — it’s empowering artists to create and inviting all of us to experience art anew.
