The Ultra-Blissful Spa & Wellness Resort The Farm At San Benito

The view from the infinity pool at the Sanctuary, the wellness hub at the heart of the resort, is majestic, and there are no sterile treatment rooms here – instead a collection of private massage pavilions enveloped by their own gardens.

Whether you’re here for ozone therapy, internal organ cleansing, or just a time-honoured deep tissue massage, it’s reassuring to learn of the impressive medical credentials backing up The Farm’s therapists and practitioners.

Four highly qualified doctors oversee the team, adding weight to the term integrated medical services. You couldn’t be in safer hands.

Virtuous as it all sounds, let’s not forget the accommodation. The Farm’s villas and suites are exquisite, and there are only 33 of them, dotted around the resort’s extensive grounds.Peace, and

Peace, and privacy are par for the course here – which makes the exhilarating open-air showers all the more inviting.

Aesthetes will appreciate the mix of modern, clean lines and rustic chic. Modelled on traditional Philippine rice barns, Sulu Terraces feel like luxe treehouses, with everything 21st Century travellers expect, nestling beneath exposed beams and thatch. At 33 square metres, they’re also surprisingly roomy.

Crystalline glass walls frame the lush greenery and languid palms around the four new Palmera Glass Villas.

Living space spills out onto a shady lanai – an open-sided veranda, perfect for spotting peacocks roaming the lawns while you’re sipping sundowners at Dusk.

Some of the larger villas are made for all-out indulgence. The 200 square metre Narra Pool Villas, as their name suggests, feature heated infinity pools with hydro-jets set in beautifully tended private gardens.

A room with a view is one thing. These palatial pads have pools with views, too – and from their elevated position, you can take in the forested San Benito ridge rising above the surrounding jungle.

For inducing Instagram envy, however, it has to be The Lakan, a jaw-dropping, design-led hideaway complete with calming koi ponds set within its own walled gardens, and a 61 square metre infinity pool, teetering over dense tropical greenery. Its spacious living area and second bedroom (with superking-sized bed) make The Lakan ideal for holidaying with friends or extended family, but you’d be forgiven for keeping it all to yourself.

Amenities at The Farm go beyond the usual fresh fruit and mineral water waiting in your room on arrival.
