Fashion bible WWD has officially declared Celine’s luggage tote as the it-handbag during New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012. Actresses, models, socialites, stylists, influential editors and front rowers have been spotted carrying Celine’s luggage tote during the collections in Paris, London, Milan and New York. Celebrities from Kim Kardashian and Naomi Campbell to Rihanna and Carey Mulligan have been photographed cradling this much desired bag around their arms. Even Oprah Winfrey has been seen carrying it on her days off.
Available in five sizes – Medium, Shoulder, Mini, Micro and Nano ( from large to small), there is also an oversized and less structured version called the Luggage Phantom. The Luggage Tote is available in a variety of colours (either in solid or two or three tones) and materials which vary according to the season.
Introduced in 2010, the Celine Luggage Tote was designed by Phoebe Philo. The frenzy for this much coveted bag shows no signs of abating anytime soon, with a long waiting list for the current season‘s offering which come in colours like Red, Deepsea, Rust, Khaki, Cream and Camel in materials like calfskin and python.
