St James’s Afternoon Tea at The Stafford

St James’s Afternoon Tea at The Stafford, £45

The Stafford London’s latest afternoon tea is inspired by the boutiques, delis and shops on its doorstep. The Stafford’s Executive Pastry Chef, Magdalena Kubaska, has teamed up with six local stores to create a visually stunning and seriously tasty afternoon tea.

To start, you can tuck into a selection of traditional finger sandwiches served alongside a truffled-egg and watercress brioche bun and The Game Bird’s signature sausage roll.

There’s fluffy Westcombe Cheddar scones with cheese from Paxton & Whitfield. The oldest hat shop in the world and creator of the instantly recognisable bowler hat, Lock & Co is the inspiration behind the white chocolate and lime jelly top hat that comes with the sweets. Magdalena has used the latest addition to the Floris fragrance collection as the base in the English strawberry and rosewater cupcake. And the fashionistas can enjoy an almond shortbread tuxedo, in homage to Henry Poole & Co., the Savile Row tailor. There’s plenty more, along with top-notch teas supplied by Camellia’s Tea House in London.
