Luvbiotics Brings Probiotic Science and Advanced Dental Hygiene to the Mouth

For many, a visit to the dentist is a distant memory. Over the past twelve months, toothaches and niggles have simply been put aside. Therefore we need to look at what’s available to help keep your mouth healthy from home, and for this article, we’re taking a look into the Luvbiotics Advanced Dental Hygiene product range.

During the pandemic, the number of people visiting the dentist has fallen drastically and for obvious reasons. Therefore, the onus is on the individual to do the best they can to keep their oral health in tip-top shape.

The simple way to do this is by bringing the power of probiotics to your mouth, and this can be done by incorporating Luvbiotics dental hygiene products into your daily regimes.

Over the past year, the thought of a dental appointment was so stressful that people were ignoring the pain and discomfort. This prompted me to look into ways people could help improve their oral health at home. The first article we published on oral health was a detailed review on the Silk’n Toothwave, which we found to be a revelation and continue to do so.

We’re excited to say that the Luvbiotics products seem to be equally as efficient as the Toothwave in terms of what they are designed to do and could be even more of a benefit to one’s mouth.

A brief guide to what’s hidden inside of your mouth
Many of you reading this will be familiar with Probiotics, and most will link it directly to gut health. However, probiotics do far more than help balance your digestive system and can be a best friend to your mouths too.

We have both good and bad bacteria throughout our bodies. It is a delicate balancing act that can move in the wrong direction if the harmful bacteria overtake the good.

A mouth, or to give it its technical term, oral cavity, is one of the more complex parts of the body. In fact, after the gut, it hosts the largest and most diverse microbiota, which in simple terms equates to around 700 species of bacteria.

In addition to this, it is home to microorganisms, such as viruses, fungi and protozoa. All this makes up what is known as the microbiome. What we need to do is ensure the microbiome is working correctly. By doing this, it will not only benefit your mouth but also will be good for the rest of the body.

The dental hygiene market is flooded with products, all claiming to do amazing things. However, many of them contain ingredients such as alcohol, SLS and parabens.

You might be thinking, “I don’t care what’s inside them? They do the job, my breath smells fresh and my teeth feel clean;” think again. Those three things (SLS etc.) do destroy bacteria; However, they do not discriminate—they take out both the bad and unfortunately, the good. This can potentially result in a whole host of dental problems further down the line.

For example, the impact from killing all the bacteria in your mouth with something as simple as an alcoholic mouthwash can surprisingly do the exact opposite to what you thought, resulting in bad breath, cavities, gingivitis and periodontal problems.

The Luvbiotics range of products

About Luvbiotics®
Luvbiotics is relatively new to the market and is a British innovation. It was borne from the minds of leading dentists and experts from the field of probiotic science.

They have launched a range of dental hygiene products that contain all the ingredients necessary to maintain the natural bacterial balance in the mouth.

One of the most obvious differences between Luvbiotics and other brands is their products contain none of the harmful Parabens found in most other brands and are free of SLS, artificial colours, flavours, and alcohol. These have been replaced with mouth-friendly ingredients including Vitamin E, Aloe Vera and Stevioside.

The wide-ranging benefits of dental probiotics
When it comes to probiotics, as we’ve mentioned earlier, most people know they are exceptional when it comes to gut health, but they are equally impressive when it comes to the mouth.

Dental probiotics have the potential to rebalance the oral microbiome by essentially crowding out the bad bacteria, making room for the good bacteria.

Dental probiotics also have some other superpowers. They are excellent when it comes to fighting against decay-causing bacteria, which will be great news for all those who’d rather not visit a dentist. In addition to this, they are said to have anti-inflammatory properties, helping to reduce bleeding from the gums and smelly breath by suppressing the bacteria that produce sulphur compounds.

Given the shock we’ve all experienced over the past year or so, most of us are now very aware of how important it is to stay healthy. This leads us once more back to probiotics; scientific studies are suggesting they help to support general immunity.

For a greater insight into this, we would recommend you read Professor Iain Chapples’ studies on how oral health impacts our wider wellbeing; we are sure you will find it very enlightening.

My experience of the Luvbiotics products
Thus far, I have only tried the original products in the Luvbiotics range and not the flavoured ones. The best way to describe them is they are a much more palatable version of what you would expect to be given at a dental surgery. They are easy on the tastebuds and far more professional tasting than the brands I commonly use.

I have been using the original flavoured toothpaste for a while and if a blind taste test was conducted involving brands such as Luvbiotics, Colgate and Sensodyne. I am convinced that the majority of people would choose the Luvbiotics toothpaste as the one they feel would work.

Far too many people take their oral health for granted and hold the opinion that a brush in the morning and evening with a two or three-pound toothpaste and a swig of mouthwash is all that is needed to keep the mouth healthy. Unfortunately, as with most things in life, it is not as simple as that.

Although the Luvbiotics range of products is a tad more expensive than mainstream brands, they do offer some incredible benefits and the science behind their ingredients is sound.

Although you can’t physically see what makes their products different, you can rest assured that A). All you need is there within each Luvbiotic product and B). Your body and more importantly your mouth will thank you over the longer term by not giving you too much reason to think about it.
