Luxurious Magazine Hidden Gems – Dewa Resort, Nai Yang Beach, Phuket.

As many regular readers will know, myself and the team at Luxurious Magazine visit some of the most amazing luxury destinations around the world. When I get the opportunity to talk to some of our readers, they frequently assume that what we feature in the magazine is where we go for our own personal vacations.

Not true! Recently my wife and I took the very rare opportunity to go away on vacation, not related to work, a bona fide paid for holiday. The strict instructions from my wife Natasha, was not to access my emails, take any work calls, just to unwind and have some fun.

Due to the industry we are in, we come across many hidden gems and rather than keep all this information for ourselves, we have decided to start to share the places that we, as the owners of Luxurious Magazine, feel are worthy of your consideration.

For this, and I must stress rare vacation, our chosen destination was the Dewa Resort, Nai Yang Beach in Phuket. The Dewa Resort is a refreshingly modern boutique hotel situated on Phuket’s north west coast close to the protected Sirinath National Park, with the beach a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

For us, the hotel is just the right size, with two types of accommodation to choose from, consisting of 34 Private Pool Villas and 62 Junior and Family Suites. We opted to stay within one of the pool villas but before we talk to you about our villa we’ll explain the types of suites on offer. The suites are away from the pool villas and face a large and inviting ‘L-Shaped’ swimming pool with jacuzzi. Depending on the the number of people within your party you can choose from either the Junior Suite, suitable for 2-3 guests or the larger Family Suite for 4 – 5 guests and measuring an impressive 101.7 m². All of the suites at the Dewa Resort are furnished to a high standard with views over the Andaman Sea and Nai Yang beach. Upper level suites even have their own private landscaped roof terrace.

As we mentioned earlier, we opted for one of the Pool Villas with a luxurious 70 – 130 m2 of indoor and outdoor living space, garden with outside dining and of course, its own private plunge pool. The room décor was for us the perfect combination of romance and relaxation with a large four-poster bed, living area and the usual amenities associated with a property like this. Wash facilities were outside of the villa, this was only possible due to the wonderful privacy you get.

High walls shield you from prying eyes and offer the unique opportunity of showering outside in the elements. During our stay we did a couple or experiments, sitting out in the garden at mid-day and listening to nothing but the birds singing, if you don’t believe us, we set up the external mics and videoed this which you can see for yourself by watching the video at the end of this article. Although the resort is situated within easy reach of the airport, I truly cannot recall one instance that my relaxation was disturbed.

The Dewa Resort has two excellent pools, one by the dining area and reception and the other as mentioned adjacent to the suites, both are maintained to a high level, wonderful to use, offering a welcome break from the clear blue Phuket sky and warm sun.

What makes this a hidden gem?
We found it to be excellent value for money, relaxed, modern, convenient, quiet and the staff and management were superbly attentive.
