Christmas time is all about the home, as Zoe Bing well knows. Here’s her choice of some of the best presents for the home this year.
Paulette Rollo Throws
There are lots of beautiful throws out there to finish off a bedroom or to add warmth to a cosy sitting room, but one of the most colourful and tactile must be the throws designed by Paulette Rollo. Made from Scottish lambs-wool, the colours are beautifully chosen and would work with a whole range of colour schemes.
Cushions are another staple gift, but if you want to stop someone in their tracks, you need to up the ante with these divine works of art by designer Rifat Ozbek. After 30 years as a fashion designer, Rifat wanted to concentrate in designing his own home in Southern Turkey.
Out of this came a unique range of silk cushions called “Yastick” (Turkish for pillow). There are plenty of imitators out there of Ozbeck’s funky and fun patterns, but you need buy the real deal to really impress.
Adrian Hope Nativity Box
If a unique gift is what you’re after, which will undoubtedly become a family heirloom, then you might be tempted by the individual craftsmanship of award winning silversmith, Adrian Hope. Adrian, who works from his home in the Scottish borders, has work on display in a number of public collections and museums such as the V and A in London. He specialises in reliquary boxes such as this exquisite Nativity Box, which is cast in solid silver and has an 18 carat gold star on the lid. Quite beautiful and very precious. One to treasure.
All I want for Christmas is a beautiful bag or six. Strathberry are made in Scotland from the best of buttery leathers and are sold around the world. If you want real class and quality, this is the one.
Naked Princess has been worn by a myriad of celebrities including Cindy Crawford and Gina Rodriguez. This US based loungewear and lingerie brand is a wonderful choice for the special woman in your life. The Lila bralette for $80 is one of my favourites.
