The third running of the Masters of Motoring event, which includes a track action day at Castle Combe Race Circuit and a Concours event at Bowood House & Gardens, will be returning over the weekend of June 7th-8th.
Last year’s Masters of Motoring expanded into a two-day event with the addition of the Saturday Castle Combe action day, which attracted some fascinating historic competition machinery.
Participants made excellent use of the varied facilities on site, and the track was always busy, with everything from Can-Am, Nascar, Le Mans, historic F1 race cars, and World Rally Championship winners of yesteryear being put through their paces. This was mixed with a healthy number of Supercars embarking on the hot lap sessions, while others who still wanted the pleasure of getting on track preferred the less frenetic action of the Parade Lap sessions.
Many of last year’s participants have already committed to this year’s event, and some of the cars will return, including Adam Sykes Mclaren M1C—the first of the “big banger” CanAm sports cars from this famous constructor—which will take its place amongst other cars from Adam’s stable of high-calibre historic racers.
Great British Motor Shows, the organisation behind the weekend event, is committed to enhancing the experience for participants and spectators alike. The event continues to expand, and one of the biggest developments at the outset is that this year also features a number of sports and classic car tour experiences that can encompass one or both days of the event.
Partnering up with classic motoring tour experts, Fantastic Roads, the start will be at the luxury Homewood Hotel in Bath, with a lunchtime stop at Castle Combe, parade laps around the circuit and an eventual return to the hotel in Bath for afternoon tea.
Participants can add extra elements, including Saturday night dinner, a stay at the Homewood Hotel on Friday and/or Saturday night, and VIP access to Day 2 of Masters at Bowood. This package includes hospitality at Bowood as well as passes for both the famous Bowood gardens and the house itself. Prices start from £225.00.
The fabulous setting of Bowood House & Gardens will again provide the backdrop for the Concours Sunday, and in 2025, both Masters venues enjoy significant anniversaries: Castle Combe Race Circuit celebrates its 75thanniversary, while this is the 50th year of Bowood and its Gardens being open to the public.
Masters of Motoring has also announced the new event partners for this year: specialist furniture manufacturers Bear Industries. Their creations, forged out of automotive parts, are truly functional works of art.
The company will also be supplying the major trophies for the weekend, which will be valuable and desirable prizes and will no doubt inspire some intense competition.
Masters of Motoring took advantage of the recent Autosport International Expo at the NEC to announce its partnership with up-and-coming Saloon Car race star Henry Howarth.
For 2025, the current Ford Fiesta Champion has moved up into the Vertu Mini Challenge, which forms part of the UK’s most popular race weekend, the British Touring Car Championship and, as such, will receive regular TV exposure as part of ITV’s coverage.
Henry has already proved very rapid in testing, and therefore, the Masters of Motoring brand will hopefully feature regularly! With no clashing race commitments, on Masters weekend, Henry and the Jamsport Racing team for whom he races will be present both on track at Castle Combe and also at Bowood.
Masters of Motoring has also revealed that Lamborghini will be in attendance through Ryland Lamborghini Bristol. The beautiful Italian machines will be on track at Castle Combe and on display at Bowood. Ryland also holds Lotus and Bentley dealerships in Bristol, so look out for more exotic machinery on both days, courtesy of one of the UK’s foremost prestige car dealer groups.
“We are truly excited about the prospect of delivering the 2025 Masters of Motoring. It will be bigger, brighter, and have more elements than previously, and we are delighted about the prospect of a dedicated tour to add an extra dimension to the weekend,” said Event Director Steve Bishop. “There is a great deal in the pipeline for this year’s Masters’ weekend, and we look forward to revealing more in the near future.”
Look out for announcements about the event and further motorsport developments from Masters in the coming weeks.
