Kuala Lumpur. With much anticipation, Sime Darby Auto Performance Sdn. Bhd. (SDAP) announced the opening of its flagship Porsche Centre Bukit Bintang (PCBB) on 26th March 2011. Lovated in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s golden triangle, the Bukit Bintang Porsche showroom is located along the famed “Bintang Walk”, the main Jalan Bukit Bintang shopping strip.

The location of the showroom is symbolic of the Porsche brand and its products and services. Its opening has added star element to a star-studded ensemble of the area, which is surrounded by upscale cafes, restaurants and clubs. On weekends, thousands of locals and tourists throng Bintang Walk and its many shopping centres.

SDAP has invested more than RM3 million in the renovation and refurbishment of the original building at Jalan Bukit Bintang. With construction commenced in November 2010, the original site has been transformed into a fully corporate-identity-conformed Porsche Centre, with the professional guidance from the Sime Darby Group that has vast experience in property development

PCBB has an impressive 545 square meters (5,866 square feet) of new car showroom on the ground floor and 456 square meters (4,908 square feet) of Porsche Pre-Owned Centre on the upper floor.

With the opening of the Porsche Centre Bukit Bintang, SDAP is also launching the Pre-Owned Car operation with trade-in programs for customers to make their purchase of the next Porsche more convenient. The Pre-Owned Car operation will be headed by Mr Leonardo Sacchetto, who has more than 15 years experience with the Porsche brand.

All Pre-Owned cars sold by SDAP have to pass rigorous quality control checks, some of which include the stringent 111-point check. Any faults found during this check require rectification before the cars can qualify for a two-year Porsche Pre-Owned Car Warranty. This is, as what is commonly said in Porsche, “There are no used Porsches, just new owners!”.

In the next three months, a state-of-the-art After Sales diagnostic centre will be developed in the adjoining building. Linked to the main showroom by a gallery, this satellite centre will feature three hoists for diagnostic work as well as a car detailing and car wash facility.

Within the main showroom, an office space has been provided to Porsche Club Malaysia as a gesture of appreciation towards our long-term relationship. Members are welcome to gather and make use of the facilities especially during functions and events.

The grand opening of PCBB marks an important milestone in Porsche Malaysia’s strategic expansion plans. Indeed, plans are underway with new centres being plotted in critical areas across the country where there is a significant population of Porsches.

To commemorate the opening of PCBB, Sime Darby Auto Performance is launching the long awaited, much anticipated, new 911 Carrera GTS. This sportier Carrera GTS ascends to the pinnacle of the Carrera model series and is currently retailing at RM900,000 excluding OTR costs
