Orient-Express La Résidence d’Angkor

Orient-Express La Résidence d'Angkor 7An intimate Orient-Express hotel on the banks of Siem Reap’s tree-lined river, La Résidence d’Angkor is built in natural woods in traditional Khmer style. Located close by Angkor Wat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site considered one of the man-made wonders of the world, it is ideally placed to explore this breathtaking complex of temples. Also near at hand are the town’s busy craft markets, restaurants and galleries as well as fascinating Tonle Sap Lake with its “floating village”. This delightful hotel’s quiet gardens, swimming pool and spa are the perfect place to relax at the end of a thrilling day.

Khmer style is evident in each of the 62 spacious rooms and suites at La Résidence d’Angkor. The hotel is exquisitely decorated using traditional hardwoods, bamboo and natural textiles such as silk and cotton. Light and airy, jewel-toned silk scatter cushions and floor-to-ceiling windows exude peace and tranquillity.

Constructed of wood and furnished in the local style, modern comforts and luxurious touches create a welcoming atmosphere.

Swimming Pool

The hotel’s swimming pool is surrounded by lush, verdant foliage to provide a private, intimate space. Decorated with 45,000 handmade individually glazed tiles, each reflecting a different shade of green, it is styled after the nearby Baray lakes.
The lakes were built as part of an irrigation system in the 11th century and are heavily decorated with central temples and immense carved statues. Thought to have been connected to the Great Lake (Tonle Sap) and providing a private waterway for royalty, it is a noteworthy achievement. The Résidence’s pool pays homage to the greatness of the original lakes by mirroring their form and dimensions.
The pool is filled with saltwater using a unique system which removes the need for artificial chlorination, offering the swimmer a more pleasant experience.  The pool is available to guests 24 hours a day. Guests can also have light meals by the pool, this service is available from 8:00 to 18:00.

La Résidence d’Angkor has two boutiques offering a wide range of attractive items you will fall in love with. Our Authentic Handicrafts boutique sells antique creations made of silver and silks.
