Picosa Ranch Resort, a premier luxury guest ranch resort steeped in history and located in South Texas, announces their first summer season for leisure guests.

Designed for discriminating guests who are looking for a rare, highly personalized and private retreat offering adventure, outdoor recreation and fine dining with spacious accommodations and time to relax, Picosa Ranch Resort opened to leisure guests in September 2011. The best-in-class resort, located just 30 minutes south of San Antonio, offers the privacy of a villa, the luxury of a five-star hotel and more customizable activities than found at the finest resorts. The core staff of 14 is dedicated to providing each guest with the traditions of luxury and devotion to uncompromised service and hospitality that are the Picosa Ranch brand and standard while groups enjoy the ranch as their own as exclusive guests.
Parents are invited to introduce their children to nature with a combination of breathtaking scenery, unbridled outdoor activities and five-star amenities at this working ranch. Activities include horseback riding, skeet-shooting, exotic animal African-style photo safaris in high-rack vehicles, hayrides, hay bale climbing, feeding livestock with ranch staff, swimming, hiking and biking, billiards, cooking classes, mini-rodeos, tennis, archery, fishing, horse shoes, volleyball, badminton, outdoor movies and more.
During summer at the ranch adults and children can swim until midnight while enjoying an outdoor movie, order snacks in the early hours of the morning, pick vegetables from the garden for the chefs to prepare in their meals, eat breakfast at any time of day, ride horses at sunset or learn how to “work the ranch” as previous generations have done. Each day will offer new activities for exploring, relaxing and reconnecting with old friends and loved ones of all generations. Camp Picosa is offered for the youngsters as part of the ranch resort’s all-inclusive rates. Campers will learn native Texas lore, make jewellery, practice lasso rope tricks and more while their parentswork on their trap and skeet shooting skills, take an adventurous tour of the back country or simply rest and recharge by one of the ranch’s two luxurious pools. A chauffeur will greet families at the airport and whisk them off to the ranch resort and remain available for off-ranch excursions. A private on-propertyairstrip is also available for those interested in flying direct for the ultimate solution to a private getaway.
From the moment reservations are made, Picosa’s Estate Concierge will begin to create a customized retreat and daily itinerary with the guests which will provide their favourite foods, beverages, snacks and activities.
The ranch’s on-site chef will prepare delicious meals that may include Texas premium steaks grilled to perfection and seafood ranging from lobster to wild salmon to tuna steaks. For younger wranglers, the dining staff is also expert at making the best macaroni and cheese and PB&J sandwiches in Texas. Guests can choose to dine al fresco near the creek, in the shaded woods surrounded by centuries-old live oak trees, on the patio, by the pool, inside the casual Lodge dining area, the Main House formal dining room or in the privacy of their room.
Picosa Ranch Resort is exclusively designed for family escapes, corporate group retreats and destination weddings. Lodging options feature the stately 8,200-square foot Main House, the 3,400-square foot Guest House and the South Range Lodge with six suites.
