The newly-launched Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort, is splendour and richness at its very best
It comprises of 148 suites, one and two bedroom luxury apartments complete with personalised butler service and full access to all of Pine Cliffs’ facilities.
The resort is located in the most southern region of Portugal, the Algarve, famous for its almost constant sunshine and long sandy beaches. This gorgeous outpost is perched on beautiful red cliffs with stunning views out to the Atlantic Ocean, with lush green manicured lawns and pine trees.
I was looking forward to discovering and experiencing more about this affluent resort and all it had to offer. There is a variety of accommodation types spread throughout the resort to choose from.
I stayed in one of the dazzling designed Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites. This handsome apartment was well presented with an ample outside terrace and combined both classicly styled furniture with a hint of Portuguese design which was very easy ‘on the eye’. My delightful suite featured a sizeable King size bed, living area, dining area and a spacious bathroom, fitted bath, rain shower and complimentary comfy bathrobes and slippers.
Other amenities available throughout the room were air conditioning, digital flat screen TV, mini bar, free Wi-Fi and tea and coffee making facilities.
There are eleven restaurants spread across the resort with an excellent variation of dining experiences on offer. For lunch, I sampled the O-Grill which is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant that overlooks the plush golf course and is set by one of the six swimming pools on the site. It has a casual atmosphere and a wonderful menu to choose from. I thoroughly recommend the grilled chicken “Guia” style with tomato salad which was cooked to perfection.
After lunch, I went on a guided tour of Pine Cliffs Hotel, a Luxury Collection Resort which reopened on 26th June 2016 after a full renovation, the new and completely refurbished hotel is very impressive and boasts 217 guest rooms and suites, each featuring a private terrace or balcony with graceful views over the resort.
Coupled with further activities such as the Annabel Croft Tennis Academy and a first class 9-hole golf course and golf academy too. I was also given a short overview of the hotel’s distinctive Azulejos by the very knowledgeable Head Concierge, Hugo Viegas.
Once my tour had concluded it was back to my suite to prepare for the much-anticipated launch party that evening.
The celebrations that ensued were on a grand scale and it didn’t disappoint. A number of artists took to the stage to perform a variety of song and dance themed routines that hailed from different parts of the world. Hundreds of guests were in attendance to witness the birth of the new Pine Cliffs Ocean Suites, a Luxury Collection Resort and ranged from VIP’s and dignitaries all rubbing shoulders with one another sampling the very best Portuguese and international cuisine on offer. A fantastic evening was ended by a spectacular fireworks display and guests danced the night away to the soundtrack of the DJ playing the ultimate of old and new dance floor classics.
