RM Sotheby’s “Tailored for Speed” collection auction in Zurich achieved unprecedented success, with every one of 42 extraordinary supercars and race cars selling to passionate global collectors, including multiple auction records and cars surpassing CHF 5 million.

In a thrilling showcase of automotive passion and exclusivity, RM Sotheby’s “Tailored for Speed” collection auction held at Zurich’s prestigious Dolder Grand Hotel on October 11, 2025, culminated in a record-breaking CHF 70 million gross, marking the highest ever European auction result for the iconic house.

Comprised of 42 rare and highly significant supercars and track machines, this remarkable single-owner collection attracted feverish interest from collectors worldwide, packing the auction room and sparking intense bidding battles. Defying expectations, every car sold, with many achieving prices well beyond their high estimates.

Leading the spectacular sale was the 2024 Ferrari Daytona SP3, a masterpiece of design and performance, fetching CHF 5,348,750. Limited to just 600 examples, the LaFerrari-based, naturally aspirated V12 hypercar is widely heralded as one of Ferrari’s most beautiful and captivating creations.

Close behind, the 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta, finished in an exquisite Bianco Italia metallic with Nero leather and Giallo accents, achieved CHF 5,292,500, while the 2016 Ferrari FXX-K Evo and the historic 1998 Ferrari 333 SP each soared past CHF 5 million.

The collection’s prestige was further amplified by the presence of all three Ferrari Corse Clienti XX Programme track cars, each setting new auction records: the 2016 FXX K Evoluzione, 2008 Ferrari FXX Evo, and the 2012 Ferrari 599XX Evo—a trio that left enthusiasts and collectors awestruck.

One of the standout highlights was the 1998 Ferrari 333 SP, an illustrious sports racing car with an enviable competition pedigree, including multiple wins and podium finishes in the 1999 Sports Racing World Cup. This iconic machine smashed its auction world record, selling for CHF 5,208,125.

Beyond Ferrari, the sale featured renowned hypercars like the 2021 Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, which surpassed CHF 4.4 million, and the 2023 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, fetching CHF 4,055,000. Pagani enthusiasts also celebrated the sale of the sleek 2024 Pagani Utopia and the highly exclusive track-only 2022 Pagani Huayra R, both performing impressively against estimations.

Supercar lots ready to go under the hammer

Augustin Sabatié-Garat, Director of Sales at RM Sotheby’s, reflected on the event: “We are honoured to have been entrusted with selling this extraordinary collection. It is rare for a single-owner assembly of this calibre and quality to come to market, especially in Europe. The results speak volumes and further cement RM Sotheby’s leadership as the global specialist in the most exceptional collector car consignments.”

As the auction’s final hammer fell and paddles lowered, the record-breaking sale underscored the unrelenting demand for iconic supercars, the thrill of acquisition, and the timeless allure of automotive excellence. For collectors and enthusiasts alike, the “Tailored for Speed” collection was not just an auction but a celebration of speed, style, and singular craftsmanship.
