Chic, glamorous, elegant and sophisticated are adjectives which are often used to describe SEVVA, the place to see and be seen at in Hong Kong.
With stunning 360 degree views over Hong Kong’s breath-taking skyline and located in Central, the heart of the city, SEVVA delivers a impressive and quintessentially Hong Kong dining experience inspired by what Ms. Bonnae Gokson describes as ‘the DNA’ of Hong Kong – traditional regional Asian cuisines intermixed with Western fine dining, coupled with her own travels and experiences.
She says: “This is my contribution and passion to the city that I love.”
The name is inspired from the word ‘SEVA’ in Sanskrit meaning to contribute and is pronounced ‘Savour’, meaning to experience a taste; it is more than just a stylish restaurant. SEVVA is the place for gourmet dining, impressing clients or chilling out with friends. Its penthouse location with wrap-around terrace is perfect for lounging or simply enjoying the stunning views of Hong Kong’s harbour and city skyline.
SEVVA is designed in such a way as to give its guests a variety of surroundings – the place is divided into four distinct areas, namely Harbourside, Bankside, Taste Bar and the Terrace, with each with its own ambiance and mood. There is also a sweet corner, Ms. B’s Sweet, a cake corner with the most delectable cakes and sweets on offer.
The setting is stunning and stylish, not unlike the woman behind it. The food served is undeniable good. The menu reads like her personal food history; a mix of East and West. Many of the dishes are reminiscent of her well-travelled and fashion exposed lifestyle; others are remakes of memorable meals enjoyed abroad. Her attention to detail is evident from the interiors through to the food styling.
SEVVA oozes warmth, sophistication and glamour. Its décor is on trend yet timeless, and just like its food, a blend of East with West, masculine with feminine, everyday versus ceremonial and casual versus formal. Each enclave of the restaurant has its own distinctive design and key features within the four spaces include a domed ceiling, a baby grand piano, a vertical green wall. Stunning 20th Century International artworks from London’s Fine Art Gallery are exhibited throughout.
Taking the essence of food back to its basic and rudimentary, the cuisine served at SEVVA is simple yet tasty, always with the best and freshest ingredients sourced from the most reputable supplies around the globe. Created with a mind to well-being, the food is healthy without being finicky about calories.
An example of the quality ingredients served at SEVVA is Ionica chicken from Australia; chemically free, the meat is healthy, tender and retains its natural juices. Even the water is from a specialised water system which completely cleanses it of chemicals and metals and is beneficial to the body. Award winning coffee Graffeo Dark Blend is also served.
Offering stunning views of Hong Kong’s cityscape’s, The Terrace is the perfect place to unwind after a long day’s work with a glass of champagne while watching the ships ply the iconic harbour. The muffled buzz of the street below is drowned by the cool and contemporary background music. Iconic buildings are only a breath away from your seat. It is no wonder local press terms it the “unbeatable view and terrace of ALL”. Comfortable lounge seating and seductive music sets in the mood for guests to linger till wee hours in the morning.
