Constructed between October 2013 and November 2016, the Dubai Water Canal is a £68 million (326 million Dirham) 3km-long canal which extends Dubai Creek from Business Bay to the Persian Gulf; forming a 17km water feature running through the heart of Dubai. At six metres deep and 80-120 metres wide, the canal allows for the navigation of yachts and motor cruisers.

Alternatively, a purchaser can choose their own contractor and create their own scheme, operating under Sobha’s master-plan guidelines.
Residents can arrive by at Water Canal Villas by private yacht, and park their boat in nearby Marasi Marina in Business Bay, which is around 5 minutes from Sobha Hartland. The purchase of a canalside plot at Water Canal Villas would allow for an exceptionally spacious six bedroom contemporary villa over three levels, ranging from 17,061 sqft to 19,241 sqft in size, with private swimming pool, garaging for four cars and tropical gardens fronting onto the canal.

The purchase of a triple plot could allow for the inclusion of a private helicopter pad, although buyers would have to comply with Dubai Municipality guidelines and apply for consent from the UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) for a private helipad permit (Annex 14).
