Put a Submarine Dive to a Shipwreck on Your 2021 Travel Bucket List

Put a Submarine Dive to a Shipwreck on Your 2021 Travel Bucket List

2020 is becoming a bit of a write-off when it comes to people’s luxury travel plans; however, 2021 is looking far more promising. If you’re up for something unique, adventurous and deserving of a bucket-list placing, why not try diving the depths in a submarine with Scenic in 2021?

If you’re an experienced luxury traveller, finding things to do which are genuinely unique and exciting is no easy task. Fortunately, we have an experience that is not only exhilarating, it’s almost certainly something that most frequent travellers would have never experienced. As per the heading above, it is, of course, exploration in a high-tech submarine with Scenic!

On the 26th April 2021, the Scenic Eclipse will be departing on its 10-day Aegean Adventurer itinerary. It will be sailing roundtrip from Athens, taking in Canakkale, Bozcaada, Kusadasi (all Turkey), Santorini, Amorgos and Paros (all Greece).

As far as cruise ships go, the Scenic Eclipse is relatively small taking just 228 passengers. However, it’s size does give it some significant advantages, particularly when it comes to docking. The Scenic Eclipse can moor up in the heart of each destination it visits and can come an go with ease at smaller ports.

The itinerary will take you to the stunning Greek island of Kea, also referred to as Tzia, which is characterised by its hilly countryside and quiet beaches. It’s here where you’ll get the opportunity to explore the depths and channel your ‘inner-Nemo’.

The Scenic Neptune Submarine preparing to dive

The Scenic Neptune Submarine
On the Scenic Eclipse is a six-person, state-of-the-art submarine called the Scenic Neptune and the waters surrounding Kea conveniently play host to multiple shipwrecks including the Britannic, the sister ship to the Titanic—get the idea?

Exploring the sea in the Scenic neptune

James Cameron probably spent billions exploring the Titanic in a submarine, and you can have a somewhat similar experience at a fraction of the cost.

10-day Aegean Adventurer itinerary is not all about submarine diving; there are plenty of other highlights to enjoy. These include: swimming in the crystal clear waters of Bozcaada, and a classical music concert exclusively for Scenic Eclipse guests in the Library of Celsus in Kusadasi, which dates back to the 2nd century. Guests will also enjoy a wine tasting in Oia, a local dancing class in Amorgos and an exceptional male choir performance inside the Church of 100 Doors on the quiet island of Paros.
