The 911 Carrera and Panamera keep adding more awards to their burgeoning trophy cabinets

The new Porsche 911 Carrera has only been on the market since December 2011, yet the sports car is now already being feted by auto motor und sport readers as the best vehicle in its class.

Latterly the Porsche 911 won over the jury of the English trade magazine “What Car?”. They voted it “Performance Car of the Year”. Just recently, the Porsche Panamera too walked off with prizes as the best luxury saloon – for example in Mexico, Canada and Spain.

The four-door Gran Turismo is also among the winners of the 36th auto motor und sport reader poll. It takes top slot in the luxury class category. Matthias Müller, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, accepted the prize for the Porsche 911 Carrera in Stuttgart from the hands of Bernd Ostmann, auto motor und sport’s editor-in-chief. Bernhard Maier, Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing of Porsche AG, accepted the prize for the Porsche Panamera. More than 116,000 readers in Germany took part in the poll. In all, there was a choice of 311 vehicles in ten classes.

The Porsche 911 Carrera won the sports car category by a large margin over its competitors. The Porsche Panamera too emerged as the clear winner in a high-quality, competitive field.
