The Goldmund Metis 8 stereo acoustic processor
The Goldmund Metis 8 and the Metis line of products was created to answer the needs of a new lifestyle, of new ways of listening to music and of new quality requirements in home theater. Many new Metis products have been developed recently to complete the line and to satisfy both digital and analog lovers. The latest of these is the Goldmund Metis 8, a stereo acoustic processor using the same technology as the renowned Goldmund Metis 10. The Goldmund Metis 8 is an excellent alternative to the Metis 10 unit for customers who only want a 2-channel system. It is the ideal processor for Metis Active Speakers and Subs but can also be used with any other speakers with Metis amplifiers for instance, especially in Proteus configurations since it keeps its 16 channels outputs.
Goldmund knows not all their customers are experienced audiophiles. The Goldmund Metis 8 has been designed to be very easy to install and use containing standard configurations for stereo systems but can also receive customized configurations files calculated to maximize the performance of your speakers. The Goldmund Metis 8 has been designed to incorporate the Goldmund Mechanical Grounding Technology that aims at suppressing coloration produced by spurious vibrations.
Like most other Goldmund products it permits a full integration with today’s home automation systems and controls. Digital Metis systems can be used with a computer (Mac or PC) so clients can benefit from a direct access to their existing iTunes library or other music and video servers.

With the exceptional Goldmund metal finish and engraving, the Goldmund Metis 8 components are high end units which manufacture is based on processes designed for precision watch making. Metis speakers are 100% hand crafted; the whole line is manufactured exclusively in Switzerland. Although the Metis line rates remain quite reasonable, the quality level of its products keeps it very far from the usual mass market components.
If it uses many of the existing products technologies and offers the same quality standards, the Metis line also differs from other Goldmund products in several points. One difference would be the price of its components. They have been created for Goldmund amateurs who want to equip smaller rooms and do not need an extravagant home theater or audio system; but it turned out to also seduce and benefit younger customers who could not previously afford a full Goldmund system but can now purchase one at a reasonable price.

Metis Active Speaker
Their finish is of extreme luxury, with 100% hand crafting, using processes designed for high end precision watch manufacture. This together with the use of hand soldering processes in Switzerland, completely metamorphoses the concept of speakers construction, especially when compared with usual massmarket components. The speakers are molded in aluminum, providing a perfect “Mechanical Grounding”. They use built-in double Telos amplification (2 x 150 W) with electronic crossover. Metis speakers can be used both in an analog or a digital system.
Metis Subwoofer
Goldmund created a subwoofer of minimal size without losing its traditional quality of ultra-clean bass response without overemphasis. The new subwoofer is capable of clean response down to 20Hz, a very rare performance for such a small size. The frequency response has been tuned to exactly match the Metis speakers so they can work together ideally. With a simple level adjustment and only a digital input, its connection is extremely straightforward.
The Metis DVD
