Dining on the Royal Edge at Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman

Most people’s experience of fine dining involves sitting in a dimly lit room indoors with others. However, it doesn’t have to be that way. At the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman is the Royal Edge, where you can experience dining on a whole new level.

Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort in Oman is taking dining to new heights with the launch of its new platform, The Royal Edge. With seating for just two and 360-degree mountain views, guests can now dine on a new glass platform perched on the edge of the canyon overlooking the Al-Hajar Mountain Range.

One of the highest luxury resorts in the world, Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort sits 2,000m above sea level on the Saiq Plateau of Al Jabal Al Akhdar, also known as the Green Mountain, in the central Al-Hajar Mountain Range. The secluded resort is a two-hour drive from Muscat in an area famous for its awe-inspiring views and mountain activities.

Featuring a glass walkway that extends right to the edge of the canyon, The Royal Edge looks out over some of the wildest terrains in Oman, including a labyrinth of wadis and orchards, where pomegranates, apricots and damask roses grow in abundance.

An intimate and bespoke dining experience, The Royal Edge is part of Anantara’s signature ‘Dining by Design’ programme. Highly personalised and with private butler service, guests craft their menu with the chef and choose to eat at lunchtime, sunset, or under the stars.

Sample dishes include Omani specialities such as lamb shank, macboos rice with spicy tomato salsa or local seafood platter with harra sauce followed by warm date pudding. Alternatively, guests can choose from Mediterranean or Arabic dishes.

The Royal Edge joins Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar’s original viewing platform, Diana’s Point. Named after Princess Diana, who visited the resort with Prince Charles in 1986, the popular platform looks out over the canyon and is larger than The Royal Edge, seating up to ten people.
