Swiss luxury watch-brand, Vacheron Constantin has inaugurated the photographic exhibition “Transmettre. Percorsi di sapere”, fourth edition’s first event of Trade Art European Days, with the participation of Sandrina Bandera, Superintendent and Director of Pinacoteca di Brera, Franco Cologni, President of Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte and Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone, the two photographers.

It was over 250 years ago that Jean-Marc Vacheron employed his first apprentice and founded one of the world’s oldest watch making brands. Since then, Vacheron Constantin has been cultivating, transmitting and developing all the crafts employed in watchmaking, thanks to a creative process that has placed the relationship between master and apprentice at the centre.

From this mission arose the determination to support neglected or little-known arts and crafts constituting a veritable living “heritage”. Today, and for the fourth consecutive year, Vacheron Constantin is renewing its support for the Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art, an initiative founded in Paris under the aegis of the Institut National des Métiers d’Art and organised in Milan by the Fondazione Cologni dei Mestieri d’Arte with the patronage of the Comune di Milano.

On 4th, 5th and 6th April in London, Geneva and Paris, as well as throughout the rest of France, the Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art will be offering a series of events aiming to promote and transmit age-old skills and Artistic Crafts- As part of these activities, Vacheron Constantin has presented a photographic exhibition at the Pinacoteca di Brera by Tiziana and Gianni Baldizzone entitled “Transmettre. Percorsi di sapere”.

The exhibition showcases, through 80 pictures, a three-year journey in various corners of the world, exploring the universal theme of the transmission of know-how: a tribute to the masters who embody and perpetuate traditional skills, a heritage of humanity and the expression of cultural diversity.
